I have a 2007 Mustang Convertible V-6 which I purchased last week. It has the Pony Trim and the Shaker Radio. At low or no volume there is a sound like a fan running which seems to be coming from inside the dash. Turn the radio off and the sound goes away. Turn the radio up and you cannot hear the sound.
Might the Shaker radio have a cooling fan ?
Any other ideas, much appreciated.
Yea, like Revvv said, the Shaker stereo does not have a cooling fan. I would recommend trying to better pinpoint where the sound is coming from and that can help you determine what it is.
is it the cd player? those are notoriously junky.
My Stang is a 06 &it makes the cd-loading noise even if you just open the door & the engine is off.
it was killing my battery & i pulled my radio fuse.
...OR, it COULD be the damper. mine makes noise randomly.
Both sounds come from the same place, where the cd player is.
You really need to try to pinpoint where the sound is coming from and under what conditions
