The aftermath of being t-boned by a careless driver...

On Tuesday, on my way back to work I was t-boned by a reckless driver in a pick-up truck. She attempted to do a u-turn into my lane while I had the right of way. My baby is likely totaled and I also sustained two broken bones in my right arm. Needless to say, I am livid. ...The police have determined that the driver who hit me is 100% at fault so hopefully getting my car repaired or replaced and my medical expenses covered happens quickly. Also, just the day before on Monday evening I installed the new axle-back exhaust on my car. -.- (video below)

Definitely going to get totaled, I'd switch all parts back to stock as quickly as possible.

Great time to start looking for a Coyote.

Ya switch what can before they come for. It will be totaled. Sorry but glad your mostly ok. Arm sucks. Be a PIA don't settle for less than what is needed for a comparable replacement.

idk about totaled (would say yes) but if it was mine I would rather have it totaled. No matter what you are in for hassle and $ loss. But if they fix it and it ain't right you still have both the loss but a less than perfect car at least with totaled it's over with.

remember they pay for rental/loss of income/pain/hassle/etc. Don't try for a billion but a upgraded car is fair.

.02 others will have different opinions

I've seen cars with less damage be written off by insurance companies. They don't want to fix it and be responsible if something goes wrong later, especially newer unibody cars.

Quick! Take the exhaust off before the insurance company comes and gets it. You can sell it or put it on your next ride!

I just saw this Lumina. I'm glad to hear that you are OK (for the most part). It could have been so much worse. I hope the bones heal quickly and that you can get back into your baby soon.....or pick up a new one.

Thank you guys for your concern. It certainly could have been far worse so I'm fortunate no one sustained any detrimental injuries. But now begins the hunt for a new Stang. Sigh... Haven't seen any in the area that interest me. I want either a race red or black '10-'14 model. GT preferably but my budget is around 17k. Depending on what the insurance company gives me for my car. It is in fact totaled, unfortunately :'(

Sad to hear you got hurt, but a Cyclone or better yet a 5.0 will help heal your wounds. I like my cyclone pony.

Hey, I just heard about your accident from Strange Mud, I'm really glad you're ok. Looks like you had a really bad one that could have been much worse. Are you going to swing by the summer cruise this Saturday? I'm sure one of us could give you a ride if you'd like to come 🙂

Nah, you want to wait until you have the cast on and beat her then...LOL.

Heard about this from Mud today on the cruise--it sucks, but glad that your injuries are not bad. A car can be replaced--I'm sure something nice will come before too long.
