Cast Iron Thermostat Housing

The plastic thermostat housing officially busted and spewed coolant everywhere on my 07. So I ordered the cast iron housing from Amazon and I plan on installing tomorrow. I will share some pictures with you all and let you know how everything goes..

Yeah I was looking in replacing mine when I had the time, but instead it decided to bust a leak on the highway and so needed to get it replaced with a plastic one again. Def will be upgrading it before it does it again.

Not sure if you meant to say "cast iron" housing or not, but it's actually cast aluminum. Just don't want anybody thinking they're getting something they're not expecting. But I can personally vouch for this part. I've been using it for a bout 3 years now, and not a single problem.

Its in! Im a novice mechanic not a pro but, it took approx. 4hrs to install on my own with little difficulty. Plus this video also helped..

Only thing I would have done differently is preclamped the bottom hose before putting everything on because it was a tight squeeze!

As you can see the mess created by the busted thermostat housing was pretty bad.. &So far no leaks from the new thermostat housing.
