Left Turn Accident

Got into a left turn accident the other day. Not at fault. She still drives good. No funny noises or anything out of the ordinary. Anyone have any estimates on the damages? Please tell me she isnt totaled. Night and day pics

It doesn't look too bad from the pictures, but you never know if there is some sort of hidden expensive damage. If it still seems to drive ok, it probably won't be totaled.
I'm not really qualified to give estimates, but it seems like damage to the front is always upwards of three or four thousand dollars.

Bumper cover, hood, headlights, grill, passenger fender, possibly marker lights and core support. Add in paint and labor and you are right at $3500-$4000.

The car isn't totaled, but it will take a couple weeks to repair.

My dad owned an auto paint and body shop for 40 years. I grew up in the dust (and likely have lung disease because of it). That car is far from totaled.

If they total it, I would buy it back and replace everything with carbon fiber.

You're in GA. I will help you rebuild the car.

Hmm.. Im having it appraised by mid week and hopefully their insurance will cover it. Now to buy it back will I pay what they deem my car worth?

That is hard to say. Regardless, I am pretty sure that your car is repairable. It is not totalled unless there are things hidden that I can't see in the photos.

Looking at the pictures, I don't think they will consider it totaled. If your airbags deployed, then they usually consider it totaled. Special on an older car like that.

I'm almost certain my guesstimate is close to being spot on.

Revv is spot on. But it really comes down to what insurance says. Report beck after you get an estimate. At this point, we are all guessing.

Given the age of the car and amount of damage and "forum estimate" of probably cost >50% of value to fix it - if so, then insurance will total it rather than fix it.

As long as there is no frame damage it should be good. Some one rear ended me and it totaled mine.Click image for larger version

Update! Had my car inspected today and the estimate came out be 4200. The inspector was optimistic about it not being totaled.

My dad owned an auto paint and body shop for 40 years. I grew up in that industry.

A few years back my dad got sick and I quit what I was doing career-wise to help him. In the end I decided it was best to close the shop (long story).

The reality is that I have written a ton of estimates, and know a lot of parts costs without opening a book or turning on the computer.

Yeah, I'm bragging a bit. I impressed myself. Lol

Is it a GT or V6? If it is a 6 I would go with a Roush exhaust.

As far as I can tell there shouldn't be any issues. I had a similar accident a few years ago, but instead mine rolled down a hill and hit a tree.
