Looking for 2011 v6 Performance Upgrade

First, I’d like to say I’m a newbie with the Mustang or performance cars altogether. I recently purchased a 2011 V6 Mustang and looking for a cold air intake, axle-back exhaust, and a tuner. An actual website would be great! I guess something that compliments each other, if that makes any sense. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You in advance…..

Wink Don't forget the headlights

I will be putting a C&L cold air intake on my 2011 V6 Convertible when they become available, which is supposedly very soon. But also very important, if your Mustang is not equipped with HID headlights, the halogens can be improved on. I replaced mine with Silverstar white lights when my Mustang was less than a week old. They are a noticeable improvement and would strongly recommend them.

Get yourself a CAI & SCT tuner.American Muscle provides fast service and now has free Bama tunes for life when you buy from them.Probably one of the best mods you can start with.

I have used Bama in the past a his tunes are spot on and really woke my 07 up big time.BBR has recently been getting alot of people raving about their tunes for the 2011s so im thinking about getting a race tune from them in the future.

Interesting, C&L is selling their '11 V6 CAI stating it doesn't need a tune, and not selling one that does need one. Might be worth it to skip the tuner for now unless you're into the bleeding edge of trial and error.

Re: Looking for 2011 v6 Performance Upgrade

If you have the money dont waste your time buying just a cai.If anything get the tuner first. With earlier models people always said do the cai and then the tuner later but these 2011s have shown really good gains with just a tuner. The tuner will also get rid of the lag in the throttle response.

I would also recommend getting the race tune with the highest octane gas that is available in your area and doing the performance and torque tunes with a lower grade if you are worried about gas prices.

Re: Looking for 2011 v6 Performance Upgrade

Thanks everyone for your input. I have installed the C&L cold air intake and it made a huge difference in the “deep throat” engine sound. I also installed the 93 octane tune (SCT), these upgrades have made a Huge difference…. I have an automatic transmission and the shift points have changed as well…… This baby will scoot!!!! I have a set of Magnaflow Street axle backs arriving tomorrow. Bottom line is “I’m Very Impressed” !!!!! SO what’s next? 4.10 gears? Any suggestions?

4.10s will be a huge difference but they will ruin your mileage a bit. If I were you I'd hold out for a supercharger at this point. They will probably be in the 4k range and put you in the low to mid 400hp range.
