2011 V6 CAI?

I've got a 2011 V6 and I'm looking to put on mods when I can. I've already put on the Roush Axle backs and im in love with them. But Right now I'm looking at cold air intakes and I'm not really sure which one to choose.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

From what I've heard, the 2011's have pretty well designed intakes already. So basically, unless you tune it too, almost no gain.

Re: 2011 V6 CAI?

JLT did a test comparison with dyno's on an auto and manual and with their intake they picked up 10-15rwhp/tq with intake alone. With tune another 7 on top (they work together so the tune does more than 7rwhp on a stock car fyi)

Well I picked mine up about 3 months ago for my 2010 V6 and I finally decided to go with a K&N CAI Great brand. If you want a CAI from them however your going to have to wait...nothing released for your engine yet.

If you can't wait here's some examples of ones I would focus on:

Lethal Performance

MMR 2011 Mustang V-6 Cold Air Intake System

What kind of improvements did you see after the install?

Were you impressed with the K&N intake?

I've actually been looking at the MMR but thanks for the Lethal Performance one. I haven't checked that one out yet.

Re: 2011 V6 CAI?

JLT did a before/after test and picked up about 15rwhp/tq on a stock 2011 V6 auto (about same on manual).

Then they did a tune and picked up about 7 more (and the peak numbers are only part of it... you have to look at the dyno graph they have its got some big gains in the power band that will make a big difference)

Keep in mind a tune alone will do more than 7rwhp/tq its the intake and tune working together~ kind of crosses out some of the gains in a way~ but still not bad to get 20-25rwhp/tq from intake/tune.

Absolutely, Super easy install and the power gain was impressive enough that when I first drove the car after the upgrade I accidentally spun my tires backing out of my garage

Yet, I know for a fact mine isn't exactly emissions friendly cause I went for the most Hp I could get......
