Exhaust system

I'm looking to give my V6 mustang a deep exhaust tone and I'm not exactly sure of how exactly to do that. I know I'm going to have a H-pipe made for me an I'm purchasing roush axlebacks. What type of header will give me a deeper sound as well as hp gains? Same with CAI?

I would go with Mac longtube headers and just the 60 $ intake from AmericanMuscle if it was me. I have a BORLA stinger exhaust system and love it.

Re: Exhaust system

I'm not sure on the sound, but Pypes makes the least expensive catback setup running at about $450 and it uses mid-mounted resonators instead of mufflers. Anyone else is selling Axle-backs at $450-$500 and catbacks at $650 & up.
As far as intakes, I'm running a C&L and I love the way it sounds on the stock exhaust. You can get good ones from JLT and MMR as well. If you didn't know already, just about any CAI will add an interesting "whoosh" or "whistle" under acceleration.

Re: Exhaust system

Roush axle backs are around $340.00 if you look around, but they are plenty loud.............Plum

Re: Exhaust system

wouldn't do roush for the axleback unless you want terrible rasp. would do a magnaflow. I am using BBK longtubes and catless X and it is already pretty raspy with stock mufflers. couldn't imagine it with the roush setup.

X pipes give exhaust a raspy sound not so much the long headers or the mufflers and especially if you delete the cats. I am using an H-pipe so I believe roush would be best for my setup.
