Procharger for new 3.7

Have you heard about the supercharger kit for the 2011 Mustang V6 from Procharger? They say it gives you 475+HP at the flywheel. Which sounds pretty good. What do you guys think about it.

I found it on stage3motorsports.com for $5,150 and free shipping. I'm thinking about taking out a loan for it lol.

BTW here's my stang I want to put it on and a pic of the supercharger.

Nice looking car. I would wait a little while if that kit just came out. Give the kit about 6 months to a year so they can work all the bugs out. Speaking from experience if you get one of the first kits you can sometimes run into daily driver issues that are unknown by the research and development. They will get it fixed but with mine I would have rather has someone else deal with the issues.

Re: Procharger for new 3.7

i wouldnt take a loan out for it, plus your warranty is voided, what will you do if the motor blows up, Ford wont fix it and you took a loan out just to buy it?

Re: Procharger for new 3.7

ProCharger Superchargers, centrifugal supercharger kits for cars, trucks, motorcycles and marine applications. it has been out for a while, I have thought about it and keep thinking about it doing it myself. I haven't found anyone that has done it yet. This is the SC that Shelby will be putting on the GTS (Shelby American Inc. - 2012 GT350). I would think any bugs would be worked out already or will be worked out if Shelby is using it.

If you do it, make sure you post the dyno and all.

I don't see myself taking out a loan for it. Although I am saving up for it and by the time I get enough saved up the car will most likely be out of warranty and I hope the bugs would be worked out by then.

Re: Procharger for new 3.7

I think it sounds great, but it makes me scratch my head a bit. Why would you put a supercharger on a car and bring the total cost up to a GT when you could have nearly the same amount of power on a car that is warrantied and built/spec'ed precisely for that type of power? I bought the V6 to save about 6K

True, but I guess ill still get one after I pay off most of the car and the warranty is up.

GT is only giving you 412 hp advertised (according to Ford), the V6 with SC 475 hp.

Re: Procharger for new 3.7

I'd like to get one myself but I'm waiting to see if vortech or someone comes out with one. It would be a sleeper for sure.

Right, but you're arguably (or maybe not arguably) starting out with a "better" car with the GT...at least performance-wise. What else would have to be upgraded on the V6 to handle that amount of power?

Trust me, if it were cheaper, I'd be tempted

Re: Procharger for new 3.7

According to Procharger, they have bolt on kits for both the manuals and the autos and they also have a "full kit" for the manuals with a "full kit" for the autos to arrive soon. The full kits include injectors and higher boost pressures, with the bolt on kits running only about 8psi and able to get the 475hp. With a higher boost, bigger injectors, and a tune to go with it, you could be pushing some serious ponies with the SC.

That is the question, that I've been asking myself and trying to figure out. Procharger is claiming the Mustang they used is stock. I would really like to hear from someone that has done this already.

Check out:

And since this seems to be a good website (A 3.7L V6 Mustang Owner Resource for Modifications and Repairs | Home of the worlds first supercharged 2011 3.7L V6 Mustang), apparently this guy is installing a SC on his V6 and you can find videos on You tube. You can follow his mods and may give you an idea of what additions you will have to make.

Video Gallery | A 3.7L V6 Mustang Owner Resource for Modifications and Repairs - there is a video here where a V6 SC beats a 5.0...

So the question is SC the V6 with few mods that can compete and beat a stock 5.0 off the line or buy a 5.0 and put an SC on it?

It's just money right...
