Quality Inspections

I order a 2012 V6 in early April. The latest update on delivery is that it has been randomly pulled for Quality Inspection after it had arrived at the destination rail yard.

When I ”Googled” Mustang Quality Inspections yesterday there were comments that suggested that it could mean a few things including potential damage. Long story short, the comment was that there is no obligation by Ford to explain the circumstances. The local Ford people have been good about it and I have no complaints with them at this time.

My question is whether anyone has ever experienced this situation and could add comment.

Thanks!

Re: Quality Inspections

Hopefully Quality Inspection means a complete check of the car for Quality and not generic definition that includes shipping damage.

If damage is the reason for the delay I am sure they are making the appropriate repairs before tendering the car for sale. I would just like to know the issue and the results.

Is that a reasonable expectation based on experience?

Re: Quality Inspections

I would think that someone would have to explain in detail why or I wouldn't take that car.

The reason it doesn't have to be released is because the car is still technically owned by ford... So until you pay for it they don't have to tell you what they do with it. Sorry bro. Just look it over good when it comes in

Yeah I wouldn't give them anything without explaining...don't want something that could cause a problem later and them say it was your fault...even if something was damaged it could still be ok as long as it was repaired, repainted, etc.
