Anyone know when TPMS kicks in?

I just checked my tire pressure earlier today, and the tires were anywhere between 25 and 27 PSI - all four of them. I knew they were a little low, but I've just been derelict about monitoring them. The Mrs got me an accurate gauge for Christmas; so, to my surprise, all four tires were low, really low.

So what the heck is the TPMS good for? I really would've expected it to alert me before it got to that point. As a corollary to that question, should I be concerned that my TPMS might be damaged?

What was your tire pressure? What is it supposed to be? Stupid question but it's easier than looking in the manual!

All four were between 25 and 27 PSI. Door jamb says 32 PSI. I would think that TPMS would've alerted me about that!

You might need to get them calibrated again. At the dealership all they do is turn the key to the on position and use a tpms sensor tool to each sensor tells u the pressure the sensor is reading and if the battery for the sensor is Good

Thanks, Berbantor. I might need to take it to the dealership then. I do have it tuned though...hoping that wouldn't/shouldn't interfere with the monitoring system. Of course, I don't want to plant the seed in the dealership's mind
