I have a 2010 V6. I'm definitely a little disappointed in it. Comparing it to the 2001 V6 that I had it lacks power and guzzles the gas. Don't get me wrong I love my Mustang but it my 97 Thinderbird V6 was more powerful and did great on gas. Being the son of a Ford retiree the 4.0 came recommended as far as reliability but it was also said to me that it performs better in the ranger due to different gearing in the transmission.

Its a good little engine, not much performance, prob Max out at about 400 horsies so there's not much playing room. As for the car itself handling is tremendous upgrade from the SN95, it does love to buck quite a bit, sometimes throttle hesitates, but overall a decent car.

But at 85K miles on Jet he's doing way beyond my expectations! Yeah its disappointing I only get 18mpg, which is probably my fault because I love to push him.. ha!

Great first car, cruising car, experimental car, DD, or show car.

I was wondering b/c I beat a lot of cars and I wondering wat others thought about the car b/c it gets down sometimes but the only mods I have on it is a bbk cold air intake and ngk spark plugs for now and I think it does pretty good for a v6

Re: got a question for every 1

Happy with mine - almost 195,000 miles on it today.

supercharged, runs in the 12's, put about 300 to the rear wheels.

Re: got a question for every 1

2011 was the first V6 I ever considered in a Stang

2010 has a significantly better interior than its 2005-2009 brethren though!

Same, my tiny little sixxer holds up strong when I have an advantage of skill not just power.

Ive beat stupid anoying rice burners so called "honda" kept up with a g35,350z of course zo6's will walk me lol but I mean for a DD stand point its a strong reliable car. I have a bbk cai, flowmaster, just basic little upgrades and I think its a decent little whip. V6 FTW unless you can afford a V8 : ]

Just saying that some thing to me just ain't adding up!.. A V6 pushing about 210hp with just a CAI, sounds to me that they weren't really racing!.. Beating a older V6 Camaro for you is possible, but not likely!... Your car is bigger and heavier, and both of you are pushing the same numbers!.. And against a newer, 2010+ V6 Camaro?.. It's not going to happen unless the other guy has a stick and missed a gear!.. Personally I wouldn't consider that a true win!.. Against another V6 Mustang is very likely now!... Just not anything newer than 2011!.. Now BMWs?... Unless your running against some 80s POS then I would near impossible!.. Those things are built to be all around performers!..

Now don't get me wrong!.. I'm not trying to pick a fight and all but something some where just ain't adding up!..

I used to date a girl with a '06 V6 and it was a well rounded fun car to drive!.. But it is not a performance car!... My '04 GT in complete stock trim easily pulled on her car!.. Ya we raced them a couple of times, even let her drive mine and I drove hers!.. And it didn't mater who drove what, my GT always won!..

+1

Who cares about racing though? I like to go fast for my own enjoyment, but the idea of street racing is juvenile to me. And honestly, who cares? Unless you're in the same exact vehicle racing on a track to demonstrate your "skillz" what are you happy about? Any knucklehead with enough money can buy a faster car.

If you did the install work on your car, be proud of it. If the car is fun TO YOU, be proud of it and enjoy it.

Don't street race though; it's illegal and might get someone hurt.

I've got nothing against the V6!... A buddy of mine has an '06 V6 with a fully built suspension and a bunch bolt ons!... He does some auto cross events and he almost always out corners any thing out there!.. Lol he loses it again in the straights but thats a bit different story!..
