For those of you 2010 owners are any of you clawing your eyes out after Ford upped the horsepower to old gt spec the following year or are you satisfied with your 4.0? Just curious id be torn between because even though the 3.7 is arguably one of the best v6's Ford has ever made, but the 4.0 makes more torque than hp and makes it at a lot lower rpm and thats what really defines a muscle car. Let me know your thoughts.

Re: 2010 v6 vs 2011 v6

I was in the market for a 2010 before but decided to buy brand new because i was able to get so many rebates and the used ones were not dropping in price much. They were also almost all automatic. The 3.7 sounds way nicer imo and apparently gets better mileage and of course the hp. You are right though torque is more of a sign of a powerful engine. The old v6 is a long running design..the 3.7 still hasn't proved itself so i guess 4.0 drivers can feel they have a reliable engine? and yes us 3.7 guys have the extra gear in MT but the tranny is made in china. That was the only thing pushing me back from buying this car...time will tell if it was a good choice.

If i did buy a 2010 brand new, I'd probably hate Ford right now. If i bought one used...at a good price....210hp is plenty and the only way to tell from the exterior is the single exhaust.

Very true. Even though id much rather would have had a stick i went with an auto because of the tsb's i saw on the MT and the fact it was made in china. I have to say though im not hating the auto like i thought i would it doesnt really feel like a ford trans it feels more germanish than anything. The way i see it motor wise though is us 3.7 guys can really get a smile on our face when we drive up the rpms unlike the 4.0 but in just normal everyday driving the 4.0 will feel more powerful cause of the torque down low. Our engines are pretty much asleep until we get around 3200-3500 rpm then its a totally dif story. Lol
