Flowmaster axlebacks

Got me a nice amount of birthday cash so looking to do exhaust and tint. Looking at the Force II axle back kit from flow master for my 3.7. I know these engines are much more responsive to small mods, would I need a tuner with the exhaust to get the full gains of hp and mpg?

Sry if this is a stupid question, totally new to this. Modding a new edge was WAY different. Lol

No you don't need a tune for that axle back. Honestly I don't think you need one for any axle back. But from what I learned from everyone here is that you aren't really going to see any hp increase from an axle back. According to a guy at American Muscle you might see a 1 horsepower increase so nothing you will notice. Same goes for the fuel economy. Although you will have better air flow out the exhaust so either way you are still better off with the flowmasters then your stock exhaust. If you are looking to increase mpg then the best route would probably be a CAI with a tune.

well my plan is to start with the exhaust to get the better sound. then tint.. then it'll be the Ford installed CAI and tuner

Well that's a great idea. I noticed that American muscle lowered the price on force 11s again. Before they were 560 something. They are back to 430 but I'm not sure for how long but now is definitely a good time to pick them up. I ordered the same exact exhaust but am yet to have them installed.

Re: Flowmaster axlebacks

i know Borla has three levels for their mufflers so you may want to research those~ not sure how they compare to flowmaster but another option to look at before a purchase.

Checked then out and really didn't care for the sound of them. The touring was the only one that wasn't too bad, but I'm not paying that much for exhaust that will
Make such a slight difference.

Well guys I got them installed i must say, this kit is everything I wanted in sound. Beautiful deep tone, but once you get up to speed cruising you barely hear it inside the cabin. Perfect.

I'll try to post some vids tomorrow
