No E85--2011 V6

Almost all gas stations in my area have the '10%' ethanol gas. Extremely hard to find with no ethanol. Noticing that my gas door has the no E85 symbol on it. Even though it's not actually E85, can this 10% ethanol gas mess up my car?

No, all cars built after 2000 or so have a tolerance for the ethanol mixture. It will decrease your gas mileage versus fuel with no ethanol but will not in anyway harm your car. That sticker just means to not use E85 ethanol

Thanks for that info.

What kind of mileage difference am I looking at here? Might be worth finding the non ethanol, I know there is one and only one in my area.

Not too sure, varies from vehicle to vehicle. Probably somewhere between 1-3 mpgs. I don't generally go too far out of my way for the non-ethanol but will definitely go for it when I get a chance.

That sounds about right, but soon, within the next few years I think they're going to bump it from 10% to 15%

Re: No E85--2011 V6

I used to buy at Shell as in our area they didnt include ethanol but now they do.... the biggest issue is it absorbs water if you let it sit to long~ not sure if it can while the tank is capped but just FYI~ only a big deal I would think for cars that are not driven regularly.
