Will a CAI help with deepening the tone of your exhaust..?

Not really... Mainly under acceleration you hear a deeper "whooshing" sound under the hood, not at the tailpipe. Also, no sound at idle. Don't buy this item strictly for performance sound.

It sounds badass when you get on the throttle.if it's quiet around you and your windows down you can hear it sucking.

Def a must have, with a tune. This is the best first mod for sure.

Some engines take the CAI with no tune, without your engine light coming on. Some don't.

The first mod I got was a CAI(no tune) my engine light came on as soon as I started my car.after a few days with messing with it and trying different/larger filters it went off for good.didn't come on after.

Also depends on the CAI, mine is from C&L and they sell it with an aluminum sleeve that stays in for "no tune required", or slips out if you are tuning. Its amazing how dialed the motors are to respond so dramatically to airflow created by the removal of a 1/8 inch sleeve. But realize without a tune your mostly buying it for eye candy and the wooshing "honk" at WOT.
