2012 v6 Mustang Help.. What to do with it?

Hey everyone, im new here. Me and my dad split on the purchase of a 2012 v6 Grabber Blue Mustang for my first car not long ago. Been thinking of what i can do with the car, however i have "average" knowledge of cars.

Ive only thought of smoking all my lights, and getting a sound system, but i would like to do a whole lot more, just dont know what to do!

Id like to increase HP (not by to much) increase performance, and make it look better then it already does.

I am open to EVERYONES INPUT, pictures of my car are below.

Welcome from a fellow MCA owner! The car is beautiful already! I'd say exhaust and tint first. That's what I did

Can't tell if you have any tint on it right now, but that's a key visual mod. Then again, with all of your louvres, it's not quite as prominent.

Tune certainly wakes it up, and it's a near must-have for an AT.

Gears make a huge difference although I would caution against going too steep. I have 3.73 gears, and while it's fun to drive, it definitely drinks more fuel. Maybe try the tune first and see if you still want more giddy up.

CAI is nice by itself or with the tune. IMO, it's more of a psychological mod than anything else. By itself, there are some small power gains, and paired with a tune, it helps a little, but the look and sound are as big a part of it as well.

Exhaust gives you the immediate visceral impact of owning a muscle car. Whether it be 6 cylinders or 8, an aftermarket exhaust just makes it sound and feel more powerful. Again, this is a psychological mod, and a good one at that!

After those mods, you can get into a slew of other money pits. Fortunately, the MCA looks so good that you don't really need any visual mods. Next thing I want to do is suspension, but I need to get out of speed bump hell before I do that.

Re: 2012 v6 Mustang Help.. What to do with it?

@the_stig - thanks man, and its an automatic

@jetwolf - I have the same rims as "04TRV6" in his signature at the moment. I have my winter rims/tires on for another 2 weeks.

@04TRV6 - I have solar tint, i would assume it sort of acts like a tint when the sun hits it?

@illestdomer2005 - Thanks for your help, currently do not have tint, however i have solar tint with it, but dont really know how that works.. Id also like to lower it a bit, but i can barely make certain speed bumps/get into certain parking lots/ etc, haha.

--------------

What CAI and Tuner would you guys recommend? Im from Toronto, Ontario and i would like to be able to get it around here and have it installed somewhere (not tech savvy, neither is my dad) Secondly, for a sound system what would you guys recommend? Im not looking for my system to go "hammer" would just like to hear it go louder with some more bass, nothing fancy really.

Nice to see another grabber member! I've got the Eibach pro-kit springs which lowers the car about 1inch. It's not too low so you won't have problems with speed bumps or anything but it looks great. It's also and affordable mod and combined with a new set of wheels changes the whole look of your car.

And if you've got the warranty with your car I wouldn't go with a tuner as it will most likely void it.

Yea, I saw another canadian post that any modifications would void all warranty. I think US and canadian warranties are different. Sorry about that, I was the one that suggested the CAI and tune.

Well the tint is a nice thing for summer days, but I also got it for the looks

And I really like the MCA rims we have. Especially since mine just happen to match my paint

Basically anything you do performance wise aside from gears puts you in shaky warranty territory. Exhaust and gears are the only "sanctioned" mods by dealerships.

There has been so many threads on warranties and mods lately we need a stick.

Thanks stig

Basically, Ford is saying if you change anything that might REMOTELY affect the powertrain, we are going to look for a way to deny warranty coverage.

You can get the dealer to install a new rear gear and that will wake up the acceleration.
