Gear where the wheels are spinning faster than the engine

I found it in the manual now It prevents the car for reaching the highest gear when on, in my case for reaching the 6th. This allows the car to shift downwards quicker and therefore more responsive when you flat it to the floor and say that you are doing 70 mph. Of course this isn't good for your mpg ! It also give you engine braking which is why the lit up car symbol is showing a car going downhill.

Not if it adds 10 hp. Also if you drive naked you improve your power to weight ratio and cut a tenth of 0.1 seconds off of your 0-60 time. The difference is like night and day. I can tell because people stare at my car more meaning its faster when i drive naked.

Re: Litter black button on the gear shifter?

The button on the shifter is the "Hille Descent Assist" button. Yes, it turns off the overdrive, but if you're headed down a steep hill, it helps reduce the amount of time you spend on the breaks by automatically down shifting the transmission as you modulate the brakes. Incidentally, if you have your cruise control on as you go down a hill, it will also downshift your transmission to keep your vehicle within the proframmed speed window of the cruise control.

Wow that explains alot! I had no idea! I thought it was the passenger eject button. I pressed it when my ex gf was screaming at me and nothing happened so I took it into the Ford dealer and are waiting to hear from them. They previously had mentioned my turning signal fluid was low and it would be around 275+parts. Does this seem reasonable?
