Re: SHELBY GTS

not really a fan of anything Shelby takes and updates due to the extremely high price they ask when done vs what you get.

Re: SHELBY GTS

The GTS package really isn't exactly new on the V6s. Shelby has done the GTS before as well as the CS6 and Terlingua packages which are all just supercharged 6s. I've been tempted by the idea, but shelling out that much cash keeps it in dreamland.

Would you buy a v8 or opt for a shelby boosted 6? If it werent for longevity issues with forced induction id opt for the shelby to be different. Everybody is always all about the v8. I just want something dif for a change. More cylinders isnt always better.

Not a fan of a car sounding like a weedwacker when at WOT.

Re: SHELBY GTS

From what I've heard of the cars, the boosted 6s aren't bad. They don't sound like any forced induction 8, but they are so much better than any of the boosted ricer 4s. The biggest advantage to any 6 is going to be fuel and weight savings, which is why the idea of a boosted 6 is appealing to me.

Uh... If you say so... They must sound different where you are. I've owned a few 3.8s and none of them sounded good over 3k

Re: SHELBY GTS

I think you may be wrong - here are a couple of videos where the car is well over 3,000 rpm the whine of the supercharger and the mufflers don't sound like a weed whacker to me.

I had a 3.8 and now a 3.7. Personally I never liked the sound of the 3.8 over 3k rpm. Under that it sounded great. My 3.7 on the other hand sounds AMAZING throughout the entire rpm band!

Considering the fact that the cylinder displacement for both the V6 and the V8 are both about 620 cc's, it stands to reason that the V6 could produce the same deep tone as the v8. But, the difference will always be the rhythm and harmonics of 8 beats per revolution, which is what most music is based on, vs. 6 beats per revolution, which is more like a waltz.

Very good! I'm so glad that music theory is able to be mixed w/ cars! From: the music minor.

new v6's sound better than the 4.6's. In a different way of course our v6 has a perfect high pitch tone the v8 just cant match.
