Re: warranty

Why is it a complete rip off? Mine has already come in handy even at 29k

OK so the first time I went to ford apparently there was an issue with the brake system went to ford they told me that the rotors didn't cover my warranty even though they say the brakes are covered but they really aren't and today I went for my headlights issue basically whenever I put my car in D my main headlights turned on I told them about the issue they told me that every 2011 ford mustang had that feature and that I had to 55 bucks to disabled the feature honestly I've never heard of every 2011 ford mustang having this "feature" I love my mustang but ford needs to really fix their ****

Re: warranty

are those the daytime running lights? not sure if they have these as I have a manual and my lights do not turn on unless I turn them on. Also, what was the issue with the brakes? if you were hard on them and they warped very quickly, that would not be covered under warranty. brake pads and rotors 99% of the time are not covered for the same reason they do not cover tires. All you have to do is abuse them (lots of burnouts or racing or something) and they will need to be replaced in just a couple thousand miles. I'm not saying you are doing this, just trying to get a better feel for whats going on.

I just know my main headlights turn on when I'm in Drive I have no clue what DRLs are. but about the brakes he told me there were a couple of hot spots in the rotors and he told me that it wasn't really that bad and I didn't have to change them for now but it still kinda bothers me.

The main headlamps are the only ones that could be used as day time runnin lights, I bet that's what it is. Hot spots on the rotors come from braking hard or alot or both usually. Hits spots arent really an issue unless you plan on doing something that requires lots of braking all the time and really just means that you won't be able to turn them, you'll have to replace them when the time comes. Brake rotors are not covered under warranty. No normal wear item is. I.e. brake pads, windshield wipers, tires, belts etc

I think the dealer is right man. They aren't just pushing you off for no reason. They still get paid for warranty work by corporate ford so they still make money for doing warranty work.

I don't think they are doing you wrong at all

The only time my headlights come on in my 2011 auto premium are 1) I manually turn them on or 2) leave them in auto for some light level threshold to turn them on.

I dont care for my waranty much either. Its nice on my wifes 12 v6 bc she dosent want anything done to it. But on my 12 5.0 i dont cate for it. Only thing i like is my dealer gave me a thing where they cover my wheels and tires. Even aftermarket they said if i bring in recipt after i get new wheels and tires they will replace them if anything hapens to them
For free which is pretty cool

Re: warranty

killrocker - are you from Canada or did you buy the car in Canada? The DRL is required on that side of the border.

Yeah DRL's are optional unless you live elsewhere like Canada. My 09 vw did that. I hated it but my 2012 auto doesnt. Look up how to disable it online. Probably really easy.

Re: warranty

It also isn't a warranty issue since the car is operating properly - so not a failure of the car or the warranty. I wonder if somehow though the Detroit dealer managed to pick up a Canada spec car?
