Wheels question

I have the pony package polished aluminum wheels on my car they have a clear coat on them. When i wash them i only use water and meguires car wash.
At a show this weekend i noticed what looked like grey spots all over the wheels. Does anyone know how to get rid of these or what the heck they are? I also have the wheel replacement plan from ford where if the wheels are damaged they will replace them. Would this qualify as damaged?

Re: Wheels question

Ok so I have been seeing online some sites say that it is brake dust that has embedded itself into the clear coat does anyone know how to get rid of this?

Re: Wheels question

Have you tried a wheel cleaner? I use meguiars all wheel cleaner every wash...it really does a good job of removing brake dust. Post up a pic of your issue though
