Roush Axelbacks

I installed my axelbacks tonight with ramps in my driveway. Pretty easy install. They sound pretty good. Pretty quiet at idle, you hit 3k+ and I'll tell you what these things SCREAM bloody murder. Very happy and no drone.

Def suggest to new anyone thinking about it...

Borla people will tell you yes. Roush people will tell you no.

I will tell you to get whatever you prefer and can afford TBT, they all sound pretty similar. Norma and FRPP seem to sound the deepest, are made from high quality materials, and generally have no complaints. Roush and Magnaflow are cheaper, but some people think they drone.

I love drone on my magnaflows. Idk why people don't like it. I love to hear my car! Maybe it doesn't bother me as much since my car isn't my DD? But either way I love it. It's not too loud to where I can't hear music if I wanted. It does give my GF headaches though so she doesn't like driving in it lol. I want to get a lethal o/r x and my GF isn't thrilled about that idea

Re: Roush Axelbacks

I thought about 0/r x.... I don't really know what people chartacterize drone as....I can hear it at 60 but its the good sounds, not enough to bother anyone though.

Exactly. Drone is in the ear of the beholder. I have Magnaflow Comps and love them.

Thinking about going roush or magnaflow comps but looking to keep the noise down as much as possible these are the only two I am considering though I need them to be quieter at idle and 1 1/2 rpms not waning to cause too much noise pollution in the neighborhood haha

+1 It's a mustang not a civic with a fart can. These cars are supposed to be heard!

They'll hear you crank it up, and you'll be heard cruising, but it's NOTHING like a crotch rocket running down the road. Unless you're launching from the cul de sac, I don't think you'll make anyone too upset.

Re: Roush Axelbacks

The clamps that squeeze over the back of muffler onto the midpipe is all messed up loose can hear it rattle, def not sealed. On a 12' v6

Yeah take it back to the installer sounds like somone made a shortcut, or got lazy. I don't think that has anything to do with the car itself, and if they say that they are lying.
