Yea i know one of my friends has those but he complains about em so much cause it's harder for him to see stuff on the road. He ended up putting his stock lights back on

How about not blinding other drivers on the road like a flipping moron.

I hope someone shines a q-beam into your eyes while driving so you can see what it's like.

Thankfully police departments and state agencies are beginning to crack down on these illegal lights.

It's not even bad and I'm pretty sure it's not illegal if the new mustangs have built in HID's.
Nice try at trolling though

It is that bad and vehicles factory equipped with hid's have a different housing that doesn't allow the light to scatter like a normal housing.

Nice try at not knowing what you are talking about though.

I'm one of the founding members of this site noob. If I want to voice my opinion over illegal modifications you'll get over it or find somewhere else to discuss illegal things.

Possibly the reason I have that many posts is I just might know what the hell I'm talking about and am trying to advise people from getting in trouble for illegal modifications.

Btw, it's closer to 17000 posts.

Sure u don't like em then just say so but u just sound like a complete *** in doing so! And I haven't even seen one person agree with u yet

I'm simply discussing how they're illegal and look like crap.

OEM hids, in proper projector housings, with proper cutoff pattern FTW, this way drunk drivers and tired people wont swerve head on into orbs of light :p but when i was trying to be a poser with hids in halogen housings on my other ride, i had 6000k and it was a cool colour.

Thank you for the informed response. I'll bet those oem lights give you a much better view of the road.

To the previous poster, 17000 not 1700.

I know, its forums who cares i was just bustin balls.

Guys like me and lowflyn arent just trying to get on your case. We just are getting annoyed with all the riced out hondas blinding everyone on the road. 99 percent of people squint their eyes or adjust their mirrors when guys with fake hid setups roll around them. Just because everyone on the road isnt flashing their brights, or cops dont pull you over doesn't mean you are not an annoyance or doing an illegal modification. Cops are too busy with speed traps and other drivers usually deal with it and avoid confrontation.

The reality is that i had a 6k setup in halogen housings on my infiniti qx4. Like any modification or upgrade, you swear its an improvement. Its your conscience telling you that you improved something, good work. You think they are brighter, but they really are just bluer (the human eye sees yellow best at night). You stand in front of your ride at night and say to yourself "they arent that blinding, they're fine" but really, every person you drive by is annoyed.

So fine, you are blinding others, who cares....well when a human is tired or under the influence in the dark, and in motion, they tend to veer into bright orbs of light, when you have the glare of the hid in a halogen housing, those arent orbs, they are mother effing s balls of light. They put you even more prone to an accident, head on.

Then there is the ballasts and bulbs you will need replacing regularly, where you can be with one hid one halogen, or worse just one hid for weeks as you wait for a new part.

Look at the other thread you guys had. Look closely at pics you take of your headlights, compare to mine. The difference is clear. I blew the extra cash for oem hid but its REAL hid in the proper housing. Do it right guys, civics with this crap fine, they do tons of tasteless mods but as a mustang owner we get enough negative attention as it is do you really want to blind people.

I give every one of you the opportunity to meet me here in toronto, park next to me and lets compare lighting, ill buy you a coffee. I dont want to be a jerk i just hate how all of you think this is a good idea, in my opinion it is dangerous, and does not give you an improvement worthy of the money and time you guys are spending. Put aside a few hundred dollars for proper aftermarket projectors, they will be far more of an improvement for styling and safety and courtesy to fellow road users, more than any fake hood scoop or decal will ever do. Or just leave them be as halogen and live with it.

OR....use them as fog lights. They are low to the ground, and foglights have tiny Housings, glare would be minimal, and i think it would look bad ***.

Rode in my brother in law's new camaro this evening with factory hid's. The light was crisp, clear, and amazing.

Seriously I honestly don't think aftermarket look that bad they don't have much more glare than regular headlights if any. I just think the fact that they are an unusual look causes eye attraction stock hids do work better but the look of aftermarket is more fuller I would say i dont know just my opinion

Some good points earlier stig. I'm curious how a light tint on the headlights would be with HID's. I'm sure it'd help minimize the glare. Yes, would be even harder to see but I was planning on going this route and also getting fogs so I'd still be able to see. True factory HID's are better but they're expensive and I prefer the look of the halogen housing. I've seen some halogen HID setups that aren't that bad with glare and light scatter. I assume better quality brands have better HID's w/ less scatter? Also, wouldn't want to replace them constantly like I hear with some of the cheap ebay kits.. Some aftermarket projectors w/ HID's are another option but I'm not crazy about the look of them but maybe.

I used to have a friend with a pathfinder (same as qx4) he used 20 percent tint on his headlights, it heavily reduced glare but then he had less visibility than stock halogen. I think fogs are the way to go i love how it looks when people do fog hids and leave halogen headlamps....very intelligent. The advantages of cheap hid, very little glare, low to the ground, thats what you all should be considering. I bet you'd get better results down there than in the headlamps.

That is a good idea too. Maybe 8K HID Fogs and stock halogen. Would look nice I think on my grabber I deff want to smoke out the headlights and fog lights too and I think that would look great! Thanks for the idea. Surprised that thought never crossed my mind tbh
