So i hope this question isnt stupid. I wonder if my 2011 mustang can change to 2013 headlight? With the HID things.

Yeah but don't think it's plug and play. I know to get the HID's from the 10-12 requires a bit more then just the headlights. But I'm not sure on what it is you'll need. I'm no lighting expert :/

Re: 2011 Headlight

Ive got a 12 with factory hid, the 13 light has led running lights. You will need the headlights, hid bulbs and ballasts (a small box thqt creqtes the arc for the high intensity light, one on each side)

In other words- You need some expensive #%&@. I've been looking into this as well, but I much as I'd like it I can't justify the price.

HID's can be so testy! Unless they are factory. I wouldn't bother. I learned the hard way.

Re: 2011 Headlight

I Believe you could accomplish the hid look 50- 60 bucks on ebay. i deal with a chinese company called vvme but there are other good manufactures and suppliers. i have installed alot of them.

my concern would be the led running lamp/ turn signal. i would think there is a microprcessor controlling them, prolly in the car.. not the headlight assembly itself.

it may bolt right in, but i dought it would work. thats just my opinion. ive never opened one up or anything. im just talking from previous experience.

and typicaly, its easier to add "aftermarket hid" than to add a "factory hid" to a "non hid optioned" car. most cars these days have computer controlled lighting, not the old school switch and relays. if im making any sense.

again, ive never tried the swap... ime just commenting from experience. it may be plug and play for all i know... but i seriously dought it.

2013 HID is sooooo sexy. How about 11-12 shelby headlight? I saw a 2012 used shelby factory headlight. Do you think its fit on my 2011 v6?

Re: 2011 Headlight

Haha i had them throw in the mca grille for free when i ordered my '12,i love the grille but didnt like the mca pckg...no fogs, black mirrors, no pony badges, and i wasnt a fan of the wheels. Ford wants $390 for the grille...just get the one from AM, way cheaper! Ive got the pony pckg grille hanging in my garage
