Best Mod and Worst Mod

What's the best mod (performance/appearance) that y'all have made to yalls 2010 and up mustang and worst mod that you just hated?
Figure this might be an interesting topic so some ppl can get some ideas for what they want to do to their mustangs and also give us tips on what to avoid.

Re: Best Mod and Worst Mod

Best- Probably CAI (just sounds so awesome); Worst- My attempt at painting the window switch plate glossy black. Needless to say, I've since replaced the one I did and decided to use a vinyl skin. Much easier and less permanent.

No tune. At the time I wasn't all that interested it but the idea is growing on me.

Best- the new paint and the front tie bar under the hood

Worst- probably the white mirror covers. They were bug magnets and made the stang look trashy. I took them off and went back to the textured black.

Very tough and can't say I have a favorite tbh.. It all just comes together so well. But I get most compliments on the exhaust. Nothing I really hate but my cyclone decal would be the least favorite. Soley because the quality of the material is bad. It looks great though and will be replaced eventually by some 3M vinyl.

Hmm I was thinking of getting some grabber blue ones for my stang. Might have to rethink that one

Something about a bug at 85 just seals it in the paint lol and yes wax helps but the dang things are a part of the paint now

Really love them all, but gears were probably the best and worst. Awesome for fun, but they kill your gas mileage

Non painted mirror covrs make the stangs look too base modely. You could get 3m clear bra like i got on my hood installed on painted mirror covers. Im planning on doing my headlights and mirrors next, about $100 professionally done. The stuff is amazing its rated to take a rock at 100mph and not tear.

I was looking at my inlaws 2011 edge and saw so many chips and imperfections in the paint, hideous. 3m clear bra is a worthy investment.

Or you could just repaint the mirror covers every few years :p

LOL that would be pricey! It wouldnt look good. The 3m stuff is great and is as sleek as can be but you see vry minor swirls from installation (wax fixes it though) and the paint isnt as mirror clear with this sticker on. It has an orange peel effect sorta. It looks fine on the front 12" of the hood but the whole thing would make the paint weird.

Hmm that's a thought... I'm constantly worried about ugly chips on my hood! I assume a tint shop could get the 3m or would that be something I purchase and take to a professional to apply?

Oh and for best mod: I'd say new wheels (def worth the money it changes the entire look of the car in a good way)
And for worst: led dome lights (messed up my wiring = lesson learned)

There are alot of knockoff brands out there...those types yellow, peel, and fade paint. Find a certified 3m installer to do it, you get what you pay for and the stuff carries a 5 year warranty. Its around $300 for 12" wide on the hood and side fenders. Keep in mind though this should be done when the car is brand new, any stone chip or imperfection will amplify under the sticker.

Are your dome lights working properly now?

Okay good to know, thanks for the info I'll look into someone here around my area. Do they have any effects on paint if it's removed or paint fading? And I have not had enough spare time to work in them yet but that may be today's project since I've got the day off.
