You got the $89.99 ones unpainted? You think if I got them and used plasti dip they'd match everything? Trying to stay with the matte black theme here.

You'll be better off just painting them matte black. Plasti dip is great but the louvers sound like something that's gonna need a more permanent solution.

Ialso got that sweet painted deal, but ups lost my package at customs here in canada so AM says to wait another 8 days to decide if they will refund me or send me new ones. I hate ups, they have screwed me over so many times already.

Well I emailed UPS at first since it IS their fault, they told me to contact the shipper since the shipper has to file the claim. They did lose it for sure though LOL

It's something about GT V8 people think it's some sort of monster.

Just remember that the GT usually has more torque which helps and isn't software limited to like 113 like the V6 is. Also u generally get more bang for ur buck mod wise with the V8. With all that said I love the new V6s but personally would prefer a V8.

Most people probably won't notice. You could take them off and turn them around, but it would not be fun.

Whats the secret to removal without damaging paint and the louvers themselves?

Mine had a place where the tape wasn't stuck to the car, and when I was washing my car it started coming off. If you can find a spot where the tape isn't attached completely, you should be able to get it off safely. Took about 30 minutes to get the tape off of the louver itself, but none was on the car. Just be patient. I used a hair dryer to heat the tape when i took it off the louver, so that may help get it off the car.

Yeah I checked and I'm afraid to have the wrong color pink so I think the place that is gonna paint the stripes is gonna generate the same color for my calipers. Sorry I've been outta the loop for a while, duty calls sometimes.

To remove them or any part held on by 3m tape use the following procedure:

Wax around the area, do nor remove the wax, wax on only. Wearing some mechanics gloves, use some thin fishing line and work it around like dental floss to cut the 3 m tape until the piece pops off.
I wouldn't use a heat gun on that thin plastic.

Remove all the 3m tape from the glass and louvers using some adhesive remover, a razor blade, rags, and elbow grease. Reapply the tape to the louvers and stick em back on ( the right way this time).

This also works for removing emblems. It's how I did mine when I painted them.

Emphasis on heavy wax around the piece, keeps the fishing line from scratching the paint. If you don't have fishing line, raid your weed wacker for some, just make sure it's not heavy guage or braided line.

I did it once or twice when I was in a hurry. Not a fan of those car washes but just buy some more adhesive promoter before putting em on and they will never come off.

Re: Quarter Window Louvers

I bought some louvers from American Muscle for my blue 08 mustang and it was a perfect color match. The 3M tape wasn't strong enough for me so I bought other adhesive to get them to stay on.

Re: Quarter Window Louvers

I made sure they werent upside down lol. Ups lost my set so these were sent out tuesday, got them today n put em on asap...love them! Ill miss that extra visibility in some situations though. I was lucky, no overspray on inside of panels and since my windows are tinted they dont show much from inside, just the slits of light. $89!!!!! Painted! What a deal

its all good! i am having a hell of a time finding the perfect color so when i found this place they said they could do the stripes calipers and the script all in the same color shade after i pick one out i was excited! and thankfully i can do it in a few trips to the shop becasue that exchange rate is killing me. $900 to get the stripes, $250 for the calipers and $250 for the script.
and yeah army has me running all over the place lately.
