First ticket!

Yay! Just got my first ticket on my way to work today. cop stops me, fan of the car, noticed I worked at gamestop, handed me the ticket (81 in a 65) then had the nerve to ask if I had a game in stock.

It's just not very professional to sit there and lecture me. Then try and get me to do him a favor. I knew I was in the wrong. No denying that. Just sharing my frustration.

In my first mustang, a 2000 v6, I got a ticket doing 91 in a 35 on a large isolated stretch of road. My ticket was like $250.

Lucky, in my first 02 v6 I was 87 in a 65. And it was $247, no points taken though.

First ticket in my Stang was in late Feb. Said I was at the end of a school zone. I was doing 50. Speed limit is normally 45, but SZ made it 25. No kids anywhere around (very end of SZ time limit too). Ticket was going to be 600 something bucks.

Went to court, there were two other ladies who go caught in the same speed trap. Assistant DA was going to drop it to $122 fine and just 14 over (no points), but it's an election year so the judge left the points and only lowered the fine to $300. No other pleas in 5 years so I pled NOLO.

Unfunny joke and a waste of 4 hours.

First ticket was doing 85 in a 55 in my jeep. Got my license suspended on the spot. Went to court and got it dropped to 10 over and license reinstated.

Anyone who owns a mustang is an expert as ticket rates.

Yeah, the state trooper was pretty nice, but warned me he could have taken me to jail for reckless driving although I had full control of the car at all times and deliberately picked that road at that hour because I knew there would be no traffic. It was honestly just him and me on that stretch of road. My luck lol.

My Stang seems to always settle at 60mph which in the city is always 5-15 miles over the speed limit on main roads. I have to constantly watch my speed because when she is riding smooth and quite, that means she's doing about 60 and it feels more like 45 lol.

Well, the election part is obviously my assumption. I'm sure parents will look at the school zone speeder stats and applaud. Unfortunately, it paints a poor picture of what actually happened. The sad truth is that traffic tickets are a calculated part of local revenue. It's a ridiculous redistribution of wealth, taxation without representation almost (burden of proof on defendant), if you will.

I still want to know why the cops aren't right by the school to help deter speeders through the actual intersection where children MIGHT be crossing, not hidden a 1/4 mile down the road where drivers are already well past the school.

Bull**** revenue plan, if you ask me.

+1. Older mustangs, 60 feels like 60. These new 2011 and up 60 feels like 30.
