Re: Louvers

jack stands...yes....both sides of same end of car...helps let you balance things out and rotate rear axle to clean off rotor when done. give paint about 15 min of drying before slowly and carefully unmasking.
here's and idea on paint since you have grabber blue look stripes:
Buy Duplicolor Engine Enamel with Ceramic™, Ford Blue, 12 oz. Aerosol DE1601 at Advance Auto Parts

this shade for the kona or dark blues...

Re: Louvers

for those with Legend Lime 2005-06, G2 now has both caliper paint and engine paint in that color...pretty cool. have NOT used any G2 products as of yet...if anyone else has..please sing out..

---------- Post added at 01:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:36 PM ----------

you like the price too? you order it thru advance..they have to honor that price...just might take a bit if your store doesnt have it.

---------- Post added at 01:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:37 PM ----------

hmmmm G2 also has dark highland green too for you Bullitt fans. A bit too dark for me

Re: Louvers

Im feelin it DUB looks great. I plan on getting rear louvers later on but im leaning towards the aluminum ones. I prefer the pattern and texture of them, are they that much heavier?

I bought the Mach with a great deal on eBay.. My preference is the aluminum and this is plastic.. It has a texture that makes it unique and still make your car stand out in the streets.

Re: Louvers

There you go Fulton...glad I could help..if only in a small way. Take your time on the prep and make sure you clean them down with brake cleaner or carb cleaner first. masking is going to be key...but when unmask and find small arears missed...just spray some in the can lid and use a modeling or touch up brush. you'll be fine!

---------- Post added at 09:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 PM ----------

DUB...nice car dude...those louvers look awesome on yours...and nice blackout treatment to the back of the car.
Stig...the alums are 5-7 pounds heavier and will coorode after time and need repainting.....

No painting the rally stripes on louvers. No no no! I'm going to stop you from doing so sit because it looks like junk on a mustang. I've seen one and only one and I literally was disgraced to be on the same price of asphalt as him. That's just my opinion.

This guy had a 05-09 gt. red with white stripes. Billet grilles in chrome. Pony logo still in. The hood pin kit. Side Eleanor scoops, side body scoops, the rear window louver, and the stripes were from bumper to bumper. Oh, and he had white mirror covers. Only in Alabama...:/

Re: Louvers

ah....TOO much stripe. Always thought from rear spoiler to near front edge of hood was plenty. You wont see rally stripes on 'slimer'....I have something else in mind....but ill have to wait til I get my tax money next year....expensive final mod

---------- Post added at 10:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:04 PM ----------

BTW...anyone looking for the RARE VHT Lime green paint code SP-737.....I snagged 4 cans of it at a slight premium, but it didnt match the color of the car....keeping one i used and selling the rest on ebay at a deal less than what I paid. Still sealed in plastic and will have to be shipped UPS due to the aerosol nature of the items....This color went out of production in 2011

Re: Louvers

Tim and Gee, thank you for the compliments on 'Slimer'. Tim...the wheels have a continuos lip that rins down into the centers of the wheel...pulling that trick will not look right...but would look cool. Decided the all black look was pretty cool. Getting open ended lugs in black was a bear for a mustang...Thank God for eBay! painted the ends of each stud by hand the same color of the calipers......adding to the attention getting look. Only passenger side is done...waiting for more time off and better weather than I have today. Mirrors and street scene side scoops will be going to the body shop on monday and hope to have back in a week. Maybe by then the 1/4 louvers from AM will be in.......

Do you have to drill or anything for a rear window louver?

Re: Louvers

no drilling needed....kit comes with everything...just follow the instructions to the letter.
took about 7-9 minutes to complete the install....BUT the mounts need 24hrs to get a good grip.

---------- Post added at 06:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:40 AM ----------

mind you thats the Mach Speed ABS set....don't know about the aluminum

Aren't try the same. I remembered a few years back my dad bought a 70 Mach 1 with and it was screwed into the roof from factory with hinges. Looked weird. Can you lift it up off the glass or is it fixed?

Re: Louvers

the attachment nuts unscrew in 2 minutes and you lift off to clean the class...no hinges. The alums do I believe...

Re: Louvers

correct...but its so easy to do, its ridiculous.
Got my driver's side wheels off, cleaned and masked. Ready to finish this brake/wheel project of mine...it will just depend on the humidity here for the wheels...the brakes it wont matter...

---------- Post added at 10:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:09 PM ----------

of course Slime rlooks odd in the driveway with one side on jack stands...and the sideview mirrors missing.....they are at the body shop along with the side scoops for painting...

Hey zoom... you want to send me a COMPLETE step by step instructions on how you did your calipers? I'm thinking about bleeding the entire brake system and going to dot 4 or 5 fluid while I have the brakes off anyway... what do you think? Pm me or something thanks!

Re: Louvers

plenty of masking. I have a box of towels, and old t shirts (of course now they are of mixed colors thanks to the 11 ive done for ladies in pink..lol) and alligator clip them in place in fender linerand on struts and suspension, and an old soft car cover for each fender. when done...I check each fender....and feel of roughness...I can compound and wax and remove immediately...before the customer even sees the car.

---------- Post added at 08:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:36 AM ----------

see the pic in my album of the r rear caliper...first one I did...
