Louvers

As anyone seen a 2010+ mustang with rear window louvers and Eleanor style side louvers. How does it look? It's what I want but I haven't been able to find any pics of it done.

Re: Louvers

I wanted both a classic and modern look. between the boss/Mach 1 mix of my side stripes, rear stripe, and louvers...it was accomplished quite well. Stay tuned....far from being done.

Re: Louvers

its inexpensive if you do it yourself. Duplicolor blue and available at local advance or auto zone...prep work is the key....and very cooperative paint to touch up where missed when you unmask it...

Re: Louvers

VHT is very close but darker and works best for the kona blue. Duplicolor is closer to the grabber...
look at my pics....they were painted with duplicolor grabber green engine paint

I've looked at it and it's about 70 bucks which isn't bad but being in the military with a wife and kid doesn't leave me a lot of money for myself.

Re: Louvers

cleaned off with advance brake cleaner. once it dried...carefully taped off, with painters tape and index cards to cram under the caliper to keep it off the brake pads. plenty of old towels to protect fender liner and the draped and old car cover over the fenders for overspray. an hours worth of prep...but my album shows the results..and thats just the passenger side....drivers is up next.....

---------- Post added at 08:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:47 PM ----------

and um...the wheels were painted with VHT satin black. Damn ford changed up mid order...performance pkj wheels went from black to grey...had to fix that...messed up my 'theme'...lol

Thank you! I'm iffy on the rear window louvers. Sometimes I really like it and sometimes I don't. Plus is it hard to see out of? I don't know of my car would look good with it.

It's really a preference as everything is. I wanted edges on my car but I wanted it to be overall sleek. So to take me back to the retro mustang I installed splitters on the rocker panels and did the quarter Louvers. If you want that overall bulk mustang Mach 1 look then go with the rear Louvers.

Re: Louvers

Check out customer pics on americanmuscle.com of the rear louvers, they posted rear view pics, its not bad, and keeps sun out of your car. I was gonna order the elenors but i saw some pics of how they look facing inside the giant scoop...sorta rediculous in some angles, and when the other louvers went for super cheap like missixali's i ordered those and theyre growing on me, a cleaner look. Im scared the elenors would rip off at high speeds with that giant scoop lol

Re: Louvers

Keep in mind ladies and gentlemen...the abs louvers from Mach Speed are plastic with a uv coating, they CAN be painted if you want, they ARE lighter than the aluminums, and mount in 10 minutes...just follow the directions to the letter. I'm real happy with them and offering them locally thru my side bar company...ive sold 6 since I got them and customers are pleased. Rear view is still good, and you can remove them in 2 minutes to clean the window. Cannot find a downside to them yet...and the Mach/Boss look they give my car is well worth it.

---------- Post added at 08:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:16 AM ----------

meanwhile I can't wait for the painted quarter louvers that were on that deal to get here....I only have to get the street scene aide scoops and the mirrors painted and the exterior looks will be done....or at least until I make some more money from the side bar business........sigh

Re: Louvers

Yes...Xhg...yours would look good with a set...a nice Mach 1 look for your ride. Search ebay...I think the same guy has the mach speed abs ones for your year...

---------- Post added at 11:21 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:21 AM ----------

you could even paint the rally stripes on to the louvers...that would be diff
