Honestly I went 35 and it was the biggest mistake ever go dark bro I'd say 20 all around and it would be dark enough to be honest

I started out with 20 all around. Just so you know, our vehicles come with some level of factory tint in the glass so 20% measures at 14%. I got pulled over twice inside of a year. Second cop gave me the ticket, and I changed my front windows to 35.

35 really doesn't look bad, and it's not as noticeable as you might think. personally, I would just recommend staying legal (whatever that is in your state) and avoid the hassle.

I absolutely would not go less than 20. You'll be begging for a ticket.

Re: Tint?

I think I've decided on going 35% for mine, it will be the first thing I'm getting done to it. I have two tinted cars, one with 35% and one with 15%. It's infinitely easier in the 35% to see outside and such at night while just trading a bit of privacy. Since the 'Stang doesn't have the best visibility, I'm erring on the side of safety.

Re: Tint?

20% all around:

35% on front windows and 20% on portholes and rear window:

You have to really pay attention to notice the difference, IMO.

Like I said, go legal...you'll likely regret it if you don't.

I'm looking to get mine tinted as well and the 35% looks a lot better than I thought it would. You haven't had any problems with the 20%, have you? I know in GA 32% is the legal limit for all windows except for the windshield. Your car looks pretty sick though!

I have 35%. In Alabama that's the limit. At a distance you can't see in. When you get up close you can see figures but not much detail. I have the saddle/ tan leather interior so it looks lighter. At night you can see and like tonight, with the rain it wasn't that bad.

Yea I hate the 35% law in AL but depending on where u are most cops dnt really care around the areas I go to. One that really care are the state troopers

Take her to Elite Auto Spa. They do a great job, and the price was reasonable - I think just under $200 for the whole thing.

I've been pulled over twice in my Stang, and both cops measured my tint when I had all 20%. First cop let me go, but the second one gave me a $150 ticket. Both measured it at 14% even though the tint was 20%. In GA, it has to be 32 or above all around, but they can't measure windows that don't roll down...

Ai really can't tell a big difference between 35 and 20, and you'll save yourself the hassle going legal.

We also have the solar tint from factory. Idk how much it is percent wise But it can't be noticeable. If you live out in the woods like me, you'll want lighter for seeing the critters and deer at night. if you live in the city then its really just pleasing the cops and you. I went to ckr and they installed the polymer type tint on mine. It was $299 for it all and the only difference from the regular grade is radio reception, factory looking, and it won't fade to that nasty purple or green.

I have 20% all around and took mine to Glass Tiger in Lilburn Ralph,Steve and Hymee are the best tinters out there. I'm right at 20% including the factory tint.

Attachment 54246

And no issues from the cops.

Elite is good to. Just don't buy a Groupon deal. All the reputable tint shops I called are $150-250 most are at $150.

Any shade tint looks nice on the mustang! You'll wonder what you did without it.

I have 35% all the way around with black interior. Rainy nights have to be the worst but otherwise the visibility is good. Been pulled over once and have had the tint for 10 months

Are they advertising a Groupon deal right now? I don't trust the $100 and lower tinters either.

No. But I made that mistake before, the guy never touched my car, but had basically divorced him self from the deal. I called Glass Tiger first and then Elite they were the same price. Both had the same thing to say about the groupon deal.

Re: Tint?

I've heard the same thing about those Groupon deals where they'll use it to get you in the door but the fine print may say that it only applies to the first so many customers or that the business does not have to accept it.

Yeah the guy first made me drive 30 something miles out of my way, then I got screwed again because he said it was too cold to tint.

I'm a nice guy till you start screwing me, then we got an issue.

Then Groupon gave me a run around.
You are positive you don't want Groupon credit? Yes for the 5th freaking time, I want a refund!

I finally said I want a refund on my American Express card.

Oh why didn't you say you had an AMEX card? B/C I shouldn't have to. Hold on, another lady picks up, it will show on your statement in the next 24 hours.

Re: Tint?

Well, tint doesn't set well when temps outside are cold, but you can still do it. Hank is my tint guy, and he's been doing it for years. Tinting and vinyl is all he does and he's good at it. He normally charges $160+ but I already got a quote from him that for me, he'd do my Mustang when I get it for $120.

Mid-July can't get here quick enough...
