removal of performance package strut bar...?

Ok...I know I asked the question...but never got a definitive answer.....can this be removed without effecting the struts or should I paint the darn thing right where it is.....?

Of coarse you can take it off. You don't need it on. Only the PP comes w/ one.

I think gloss since that seems like it'll go better with the rest if your theme

see...now that was where my thinking is as well. If you all believe that would be too much green...then matte black it is...

Send that rain here! We haven't had rain in over a month! My family's soybeans are drying up! And if we don't get rain this week the corn will have the same fate!

Paint it green! You thinking of doing strips on the car? If so you could do the same strips on the strut bar!

Wait, wait, wait. If the rest of the hood is flat black, paint it green, and it will pop. Connects one side of green to the other. Just my 3 cents

Re: removal of performance package strut bar...?

well, lets do the math here....everything under the hood on the engine is flat black.....then green at firewall and fenders, underside of hood has the flat black padding.....I can relate...but might still be too much green,

Re: removal of performance package strut bar...?

um.....fulton...you can have all the rain you want (yeah right...doesnt work that way), im sure florida can export you some...LOL!
No....no stripes on the hood........something better planned for next year.....just wanted to do the mounts in satin and the bar portion in green. I have flat black strut covers in route....would, look cool that way.

---------- Post added at 07:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:18 AM ----------

appreciate the input domer...BUT since im using the duplicolor green instead of body color (a shade brighter....).dont want to mix the 2. everything else under the hood is a bit distanced from the fenders. See my album on the underhood shot....

Just looked at it. Those seats are wild!

I would either leave it as-is or paint it black (Rolling Stones).

Re: removal of performance package strut bar...?

Thank you domer!
Like the song reference.....I do stuff like that at the fire station...along with best lines and quotes from movies..LOL!
okay.....black it will be....especially since just got my JLT hood strut kit in with the painted struts and brackets.....

---------- Post added at 06:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:57 AM ----------

you did see the engine bay shot with the added green..right?

---------- Post added at 07:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:57 AM ----------

actually....lets put this to a vote.....
#1: paint the strut bar completely flat/matte black
#2: paint the mounts black, and the bulk of the bar green that will match the other green painted components *see my 'slimer' album for underhood shot*

#2. It'll be enough to shout custom but not overdone. Plus too much flat black is dull looking. You bought the green to stand out. So why should your engine? You'll see that I'm right in most cases.
