Applied breaks, double tapped the traction control button. You can even do it while the vehicle is in motion.

Unless it comes with the performance package, it isn't on my 14 3.7.

I've got advance track in my 2011 premium v6. Press once to turn it off. While stopped, hold the button down five seconds to turn off traction control which disables both steps of the traction system.

If you wish to disable the speed limiter on your Mustang, you can order a tune (assuming you have a tuner) and ask that the speed limiter be turned off.

just be aware that many have reported their 2 piece drive shafts have given out after a few runs at speeds over the stock limiter settings.

Hopefully these speeds are not being done on the public streets. Mustang Evolution likes their members reporting posts on Monday mornings, safe and sound!

True. Lots of good info in there to read when we are in "the library". I try to use that time now to solve the worlds problems.

I've been enjoying the other tidbits and stories from this post that we don't get from the owners manual.

Yea I know I had those on my 3.7 but he said he has sport mode traction control. On my 5.0 if u hit the brake & press the t/c button twice it turns on sport mode!

I just checked my 2013 Premium Pony Pak in the Garage. Great excuse to start it up during its winter hibernation. Hold brake down, touch tc button twice super fast. It just blinks Traction control off and then Advance track on. Try it again a few slower and fast speeds same thing; no sport mode posts on the Color center LCD display.

I have a 2013 Premium GT and it has the sport mode. I've been playing around with this and it seems like even in the default setting; traction control and Advance Track on, it still allows considerable wheel spin pulling away from a stop. I easily laid two 6ft long black streaks, before I let off with everything on. This surprised me. Does TC/AVT only kick in at some minimum speed or something??

That's how my 13 3.7 was. I want the guy that said he has sport mode advance trac to post a pic! Maybe he has a one of a kind 3.7? That would be BA!

Also, this thread is from 2012.
How would I know if I have Sport Mode? I have a 2011 V6 Perf. Page. but I only have a traction control button.

Sport mode advance trac u hold the brake & press the TC button 2x. (I'm pretty sure u won't have it tho) & if u meant sport steering u use the buttons left of the steering wheel to change it!

Also if you have the base model once you turn the advance trac of and the scroll through the options when you get to steering it will say sport locked.

Yeah PP always had sport mode for our cars.

But note that for at least 2013s and newer there are TWO levels of traction control. One is just hitting the traction control button. To turn off ALL advance Trac and traction control you press the brake and hold down the Traction control button.

I do this at the track or for auto cross. I don't do this for normal driving for obvious reasons. AdvT/TC kills power if u do stuff like slight oversteer then power for the straightaway because it detects slippage. Kills lap times.

I don't have the PP for the record. If I did I'd probably use that Sport Mode at the track. At least to try it...

Just an FYI, I have run a road course (it was not a competition) and the Advance Tract T/C lets me take the corners harder than my seat of the pants feel would normally let me; 0.89Gs so far. I took it off once on a large parking lot with cones for AutoCross like activity (it was not a competition) and the car rear end would spin past 270 degrees, not at all what I wanted. Put it back on and moving in and out of cones was easy.

Yes, if your an excellent driver taking them full off can get you better laps times. If your not experienced or your experience is 37 years ago, you might want to leave it on till you get better. Even hookups are sometimes better with TC then off with the Auto and a tune.

ArtU, agreed. When I have stock tires on like for winter driving, tc does me much better. But I put on much grippier summer/race tires and do much better with tc off at the track. Peak lateral G's for me last time out (in rain and wet track!) had just managed 1.0 g. I kinda doubt I'll do better than that for a while.

I think someone also asked how tc affects power. Well one of the things it does is reduce throttle when slip is detected. Thus when I tried to get on it coming out of corners (summer/race tires) I had this hesitation from the car. Weak power. I thought that was just the way the car was until I realized about the brake and five seconds on the button trick. and then it was like a new car on that track.

If I had the Perf pack, my guess is sport mode wouldn't hesitate and force u to wait the same way.
