Whitelightning,

The Airaid throttle body spacer is a great product! The Airaid Throttle Body Spacer not only improves the power and performance of your Mustang, but with its unique “Helix Bore” design it also maximizes fuel efficiency saving you money at the gas pump(which is awesome when owning a mustang LOL). The Helix Bore creates a spinning action to the incoming air to provide superior atomization of the air fuel mixture for better combustion.

As far as the whistle goes, I think what most people are hearing is the air moving through much smoother so it leads to some more noise!

I Hope this helps!

Hit me up if you have any questions!

- Dan

Is it like a turbo whistle or does it sound like a Honda? I own no Honda. I own American heritage if your feel me.

Is it any different than the whistle heard on acceleration with a CAI? And if so, is it that louder if you already have a CAI installed?

Really Dan? Any testing to back up those claims?

I've never seen any real facts that support that, at least not on the 4.0 and I can't imagine that the 3.7 would have a different result. The only thing I have ever seen is that in the end buyers found themselves with an expensive paper weight.

That's why I made this. He does have AM in his name so he may be like the sales pitch guy. The 3.7 is different. So maybe something is a tad different

Re: Airaid spacer?

well...you did have a legitimate question. Im happy with my airaid CAI.....after my first spin in slimer tonight with it....he really wanted to go and was doing it with a bit less pedal. I forsee a hot run on the autobeach (hwy 31 in myrtle beach) real soon looking for a top end before mustang week....(evil laugh)!

---------- Post added at 08:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:56 PM ----------

that AND my flowmaster Force 2's will be in by next week and installed by the 30 on the next weekend I work at my part time gig at a dealership.

That's what I'm thinking. My friend had one in his four runner. It didn't have this "whistle" to it. Bug he had a little more torque and he went a week and a half on a tank when before it was 5 days. But that's Toyota. Also it won't fit an airaid cai. So I can't get them to match if I got it :/

I heard the whistle finally! It sounds like a turbo on Z. Kinda annoying for a muscle car. I've decided to pass and just use the hundred on the seat delete kit

Sounds like a turbo? I'll pass as well. I'm not thrilled, although I don't hate, the whistle of the CAI as is. And that isn't very loud at all.

Provided I can find it from a place other than ford do the tax isn't crazy high. I didn't know the boss had a backseat though. It had ricaro seats and a back seat. So weird.

Had a Spacer on a different vehicle of mine, years ago and NEVER saw any type of performance increase of ANY type. Even had a couple of Performance Shops personally told/confirmed with me that, there is absolutely no advantage of having any of those hooked up to your vehicle.

It shouldn't really be very different from others. I don't know about airaid but my JLT was easy to install.

Re: Airaid spacer?

Ok... I have one of these spacers and the spacer DID NOT cause the whistle. The whistle came from the higher flowing CAI that was previously installed. The whistle absolutely DOES NOT sound like a turbo blow off valve. With a little physics knowledge, some musical knowledge and some deductive reasoning, the cause of the whistle is fairly obvious. When you increase the the air speed and volume moving across the butterfly blade of the throttle body, you get a whistle. You only get a whistle at a partial throttle position because at full throttle, the butterfly blade is parallel to the airflow and doesn't vibrate.

Now... as to whether there is a performance increase or not, I can't really tell you much because I didn't measure before install and after install. I can say that I have the Airraid spacer installed currently and I travel 200+ miles per week, mixed city and highway driving and while not a lead footed speed demon, I do enjoy getting onto the gas from time to time and traveling at an average of about 75 MPH on the highway. With all that said, I average a little over 25 MPG.

I wouldn't say like a turbo blow off valve. Just I high pitch, wth is under your hood cause it sounds ricey whistle. He didn't have a cai jut the spacer and some dress up stuff. I'm not too worried on performance, just gas mileage. I travel anywhere from 10-200 miles to sell a house. The more miles to the tank the better on my paper wallet.

If its a v6... Who cares! Your not keeping up with a stick gt with just bolt ons. And yes there is a 6hp and 9lbs of torque difference on my buddy's dyno on my stang. It may be different on another mustang but it does work nd I can't tell any difference in the noise. I guess my exhaust is too loud lol

Anything below 09 my 6 can destroy. And I get 31 mpg and better with michelin tires. Your not really gonna feel 6 hp. Maybe on a good day 16 but not 6.
