Racing with an automatic 2012

I Have a 2012 auto and was wondering , in a race should I shift from 1 to 2 to 3 then put it in drive? Or should I just leave it in drive from the get go ? Is there any difference ?

The stock trans tuning is pretty good. I doubt you will be any faster shifting it yourself. Throw it in drive. Torque up the driveline and mash it.

Re: Racing with an automatic 2012

You can't shift any better than the computer program; and as a friend discovered if you aren't careful you can do damage (he held a gear too long and bent a valve when it went to the limiter). Leave it in D and let the computer handle it.
