ashpow24,

I always recommend Tune & Intake to start! The tuner is by far the most beneficial mod you can do to your stang.

Hang in there, you will be enjoying your tunes in no time!

Thanks for shopping with AM, We greatly appreciate the business!

Hit me up if you ever need any assistance!

Re: BAMA

ooo i cant wait to get my new drive-shaft... going to get my wheels first tho.. so gotta keep saving my extra income. But you will absolutely notice a huge difference with the tune just from the throttle response. I'm not sure if ford did some kind of safety gear switching to slow it down.. but from day one of getting my stang i noticed the terrible throttle response which went to instant after tune.

So wish there was a "like" feature on this forum. Have fun!

BTW, these cars are real slow to drop RPMs between shifts. Does the tune fix that as well? I know it's an emissions thing, but it's somewhat annoying.

I think it does- It's a function of the skip-shift that Ford puts in the stock tune. It skips 2nd and 3rd gear, going directly from 1st to 4th. When you order the Bama tune, you can choose to turn this feature off, and it reactivates the 2nd and 3rd gear, shifting has much better timing now.

Re: BAMA

3.7 cars don't have the skip shift feature. That's 5.0s only. If mine did, I would have unplugged the harness to disable it already.

Re: BAMA

LOL. You guys and your autos. It's hard for me to miss 5th or 6th because I physically have to put the transmission in them. The V6 MT82 does not have skip shift, the V8 does. Automatics... I have no idea.

Woah woah woah help! Ok so with all tuner talk I finally broke down this afternoon and bought it. Problem is I had to order it over the phone in order to use a store credit I had and i made a mistake. I JUST realized I ordered the SCT SF3/X3 tuner not the BAMA SF3/X3 tuner like I planned on getting. It's the same price, so what's the difference?? No free tunes for life? Less customization of tunes? Info please!

Their the same dude. Did you give Bama all your cars info? If so, you're golden. If it reassures you, you can call them back with your order number and double check. Then, lol, you call them back again and triple check. I think you've got 30 minutes before they close.

Yeah I called when I ordered mine too. I was nervous about a driveshaft failure cuz I'll push my car on the autobahn. They were very helpful!

Re: BAMA

Don't these tuners just lean out the A/F ratio? I know Ford likes to throw fuel at the engines under load to protect components. Also, what if you need warranty work - can you remove all traces of the tune? Finally, what if you want to keep the 87 Octane (factory) tune but remove the speed limiter only - can this be done with the BAMA tune?

I know it changes the a/f ratio. As far as what else it does, idk. As far as warranty work yes, you can put it back to a stock tune! Finally, I don't think the tuner will allow that. The governor is on for a reason. BAMA will not get rid of it. They can change it a bit with each mod you make but they will not get rid of it. Gotta look at your driveshaft an your tire ratings, these are how they determine your limiter speed.

Re: BAMA

So if you have the PP the tires are not going to be an issue (PZeros) so what - you just tell the tuner you have an aluminum drive shaft and the tuner then ups the top speed? Doesn't make sense to me???

If you have an aluminum driveshaft then yes, you call or change your mods online I believe. If not you will destroy your car. The stock driveshafts cannot handle high speeds.. No point in going that fast ONE time. Good luck with your warranty after too. Believe me I understand your need for speed, but don't be stupid and reckless about it. Tune on a car with no mods will adjust it to approx 120mph
