air conditioner sloooowwwness

I realize that running the a/c robs the engine of a good bit of power, but in my car it's getting a little ridiculous. Yesterday for example, I was running the a/c while doing a long trip on the highway. As I'm turning off the exit ramp, i hit the gas and nothing but hesitation. A couple seconds go by, then a couple more, and then it decides to kick in and move. Is this a normal occurrence for everybody else or something I can do to fix it? Whenever the a/c is off, throttle response is almost instant with my cai and exhaust.

That's not supposed to happen! It's been in the 100's here and I've got my A/C cranked to the max and I've never felt hesitation once. Maybe you should get your A/C checked at the dealer? I'm sorry, I don't know much about A/C but I know that your problem is not normal.

Then you need to go to the dealer. Up to 25 hp can be lost with it on full blast at idle. Can't imagine what it's like on the road.
