I have the fastest Seriously though, I'm not sure anyone on hear has done any serious mods yet though. I'm getting there. Working from the ground up. Got my suspension done besides a torsen lsd, gears, and driveshaft which are next. Hopefully in a month or two. After that I'll pretty much be done until the procharger in about a year. Exterior is pretty much done although I do want a GT/CS front at some point :/

Re: Fastest 3.7 ?

I know that mine isn't the quickest - yet. Went to the track last Saturday with 430 miles on the car. Very hot day, headwind blowing pretty strong, and the best I could get out of it was a 15.0 at 98 mph.

Once a tune is available for the 2013 automatic I'll see what I can get out of it then. But the 2.73 gears are great for MPG, not so good for acceleration.

I have cai, flowmaster axle back, eibach pro suspension and a tune. Haven't dyno'd it and havent been tothe track. I would like to do ltb, off road xpipe, and sct 93 octNe tune and see what happens. Cant do gears until it gets retired from daily driving.

Re: Fastest 3.7 ?

Fastest NA 3.7 I've seen ran something like a 13.04. Almost 12s and not a huge mod list, just your typical tune, exhaust, intake, LCA, gears setup. It's on youtube somewhere.

Get the Xcharger Xtreme, easy to install yourself in the driveway. And it took my 2006 4.0 convertible into the mid 12's no problem. There will be a new option for it coming soon that will let you upgrade the blower to the TVS R1900 for more power and less heat - that may get a 4.0 into the 11's

But the new 2013 I bought will be getting a turbo - not enough room it appears for a roots type.

Re: Fastest 3.7 ?

had a tech ride ride me with hooked to scanner. getting 316 HP with the CAI and flows. Flows did boost mine by 2hp....was better than nothing.....got 9 from the airaid (measured at 60mph)
Just found out...thankfully, prior to any racing, that the "My Key" default has top speed set at 85. changed that last night...so prob all the way to the governed 114. Tech said he could raise to 120 if want it

too true...but my typing tends to out run the personal grammar and spell check....lol!

asked about the driveshaft......they have only had failures when folks 'tune' out the governor...then usually 132-135 is when it fails. The aluminum driveshaft upgrade can handle much more. Figure right to 135 is what Id push for with a new drive shaft...

I remember something about the stock tires not being able to handle speeds past what the governor can allow. I may be wrong but just something to look into

Not that they can't handle them, they just can't "safely" handle them... If that makes sense lol

Re: Fastest 3.7 ?

mine are Z rated...which is 148 mph +, but worried about the drive shaft...so 114 will be fine.....no roads to legally do more than that at the beach anyway

---------- Post added at 04:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:27 PM ----------

have heard nothing if this was changed or improved for the 2013s..so I will go with the 2012 data...

CAI, BAMA tune, axle backs, and 3.73 gears - mine feels pretty fast, but I weigh 280; so, I probably will never have the fastest

That's an entirely different problem. If you have a 5.0 they make 15 different fng superchargers, 3.7 there can be only 1. They just don't make much in performance parts for us. It sucks.......

Aside from have no choice in blowers, choices for LTH are slim, no cams, no heads, no build up. All we got are stinking cai and axle back. Thanks for the 10 hp, now where's my twin screw blower......

Both hellion and cfm are working on turbos. I'm sure vortech will come up with another supercharger option. Also, I contacted super6motorsports recently and told me they can do forged internals and heads. Doubt we'll see a twin screw though as much as I'd like one! LTH's are slim but out there. Plenty of suspension stuff. Differential, gears, driveshaft. We've got options.

I'll pass and just get a good, single turbo. Fewer lines to run, less parts to break/replace. I do want a turbo over a supercharger if I have a choice and price is the same.

I'm curious as to what our stock internals can handle? I'm gonna have to do some googling!

Probably not much more than 8 psi. If it could handle more I imagine Vortec would have used a better blower in their kit.

---------- Post added at 03:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:44 PM ----------

Honestly if the engine was upgraded with some high flow heads, better intake manifold and some more aggressive cams that 8lbs of boost would put the car closer to 600 hp instead of 475. I'm waiting for that day......
