She finally arrived!

Got a call at 12pm today, picked her up at 4:30. She has 25 miles on her after driving to work, then home.

Love it! And sorry gtzzoom, but I think I love this clean look better. A set of black wheels and it would look perfect imo.

Re: She finally arrived!

It will be getting some kind of vinyl. The green is very dominant and needs toned down a bit with some black to break it up. Black rims are on my to-do list as well. First thing is tint though.

Re: She finally arrived!

Ive seen this colour in person and its brilliant. It actually looks fine in base trim! I say good call on tint, and get some painted mirror caps, wheels, then you will be all set! Enjoy it and welcome to the herd

Congratulations on your new "MOD" money pit

If you are anything like the rest of us you will find getting the Mustang is only the beginning. Not only is the Mustang fun but doing your own customizing is going to be extremely great fun.

Nobody ever said "OWNING a HORSE IS CHEAP"

Anyway, Your car looks great.

Re: She finally arrived!

Ronnie's right....nothing is cheap about owning a Mustang. You see a new mod...and you want it, then the next...sigh. My 'mod' dough is gone. I'll have to wait until I make some more dough on eBay sales or overtime at my P/T job...then I want that spoiler Jim C has...that will look great. sigh...a customizer's job is never done.....

When I was in SC a few weeks ago I found gas for $2.96, and I consider that pretty great! It's hanging around $3.11 here in my area of NC.

Re: She finally arrived!

Gas was $2.95 here until yesterday, then it mysteriously hit $3.25 in one day.

I drove her about 200 miles today. Found a blemish on the front bumper with a bit of missing paint... apparently they scuffed it installing the grill. Going to show that to the dealership tomorrow. Also, going to buy the auto-headlight switch, check on having my tint guy tint it, and see about some black vinyl. Going to look for some plastidip too.

I also find the extremely long travel of the clutch annoying. I'm having to sit farther forward than I prefer to make sure I depress it fully. Maybe that clutch pedal pad someone mentioned isn't looking so retarded now... Mixture of city/interstate, she's getting 25mpg according to the car. Probably a bit better than that from what people have said, plus I've not been grannying her. She revs up there to 3-4k at my whim, did a couple higher rpm goes but not redline or heavy first gear launches yet.

Having 6 gears is interesting to say the least, and I'm finding the 2.73s a bit annoying. Lots of hills here and she can't cruise at 60-75mph in 6th and go up hills. Makes the gear almost useless except on straights. I could see a 3.31 being a definite advantage over 2.73s from a stock perspective. Oh well, 3.55s will one day replace those.

Grill scuff on the bumper:

Any time a direct light hits it, it looks like the 2nd pic. Whether it's the sun or street lights. The paint has a lot of depth and gold metal flakes that lights bring out. Believe me, it's an amazing color.

Re: She finally arrived!

Appointment made for tint Saturday. 35% all around. I wanted something lighter than my Malibu and I like the 35% on my Grand Prix. Should help seeing out when it's raining at night. Besides, that's legal limit here and I'll have enough attention as is.

Also picked up the auto-headlight switch with fog option. Got it from the dealer for $28 before tax. I'm so used to it on other cars, I've got to add it to this one too.

Re: She finally arrived!

Yeah i love the green too. My kona blue is same you cant capture it in photos...under differing sunlights there are different shades of blue but towards evening there is a sweet purple flake in the paint and at noon its straight up blue, under flourescent light or lights from other cars it looks purple. People dont understand these tri coat paints they make the cars look so much better than the regular colours. I get compliments from everyone about the colour.

That sucks about the chip, look into getting 3m clear bra installed on the front. I got it done on mine. Its pricey but i did the front of my hood as its the biggest eyesore when there are rock chips. This stuff repels rocks at 120mph! It also protects the paint from bug stains and debris.

The 13s are sick, but i love my powerdome hood it looks mean
