I average 385 with 100% oil life. But now at 15% I get 325.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

Both are negligible. Louvers are very streamlined and the air flows around them. Side scoops cause a bit because they have a ridge that the wind can catch. However, your spoiler and sideview mirrors will cause more drag than anything. We don't actually need spoilers so why not take yours off? I ordered mine without one. I may put one on eventually but I'm not going there yet.

Thought I'd add... I was averaging around 22-24mpg just shifting and not paying attention, with a combination of rural/city. I'm actually not impressed with interstate driving at all, mainly because I have so many hills here. With 2.73s I actually have to downshift into 5th because at 75mph 6th doesn't always have the grunt to pull the large ones and maintain speed. On interstate I'm getting around 28mpg... if the terrain was flat I know it would do more. Right now, it reads just a few tenths over 26mpg average for some city and a lot of rural driving. It does awesome on winding backroads and shifting at no more than 2500rpms keeps the mpg up. Cruise under 2k when you can and you can watch the mpg climb.

I've heard the built in MPG calculator actually reads less than what you're getting. So I'm intent on calculating it myself here shortly, just haven't thought about it when I get gas so I can reset the trip.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

Those are scoops, not louvers. I'm sure they're similar to the side scoops, but unlike the side scoops the air can exit the rear of it. It's not closed off.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

On a trip to JAX from N. E. Ohio in my 2012,3.7 V6...with (now) 2900 miles on the odometer..with the AC blowing cold...cruising with the cruise on at 70mph, on I-95...I was showing at 34.5 mpg. JAX and back...was a four tank trip. Average from trip was 27.5mpg... The Blue Ridge Parkway...tends to require a heavy foot.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

Almost 1200 miles on the clock, I filled it up from just below the 1/4 tank mark today and did the calculations (set the trip at last fillup). With a combination of city, hwy, and country roads (really hilly here, no flat cruising), I used 11.767 gallons in 317 miles.

26.9mpg calculated average. This is with me taking it easy and stomping on it. I did quite a few 1-2 gear pulls this tank just playing around. The information center said 25.5mpg.

Best part... this matches my average tank mpg from my gutless '10 Malibu 2.4 Ecotec I got rid of. More style, 1.3ltr more displacement, 136 more horsepower. I couldn't be happier.

I know the newer stangs differ from my 2010, but I can vouch that you have to break it in first before the computer will read the mpg correctly.

I will say that with only the CAI and exhaust I got 430 miles on one tank all highway and still hadn't hit the 50 miles to empty yet, but it was close lol.

Since the new gears and tune though I haven't figured out the mileage yet. So far it looks to be around 21mpg highway which isn't bad for a modded car, but I need to take another road trip to really figure it out.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

I'm averaging 24.5. Pretty good split down the middle of city and interstate. And i go 80, i'm sure if i went 70 i would see an extra gallon or two but what's the fun in that.

Fuelly.com is a sweet site. You just punch in your odometer reading, cost of gas, and how many gallons, and it keeps track of how much you spent, your mpgs, graphs your information etc.

Just register and if you have a smart phone save the link to your device, then use it when you fill up.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

On my trip to R&R, Cleveland/JAX, I had the tires at 35psi. Now they are at 30. Rides WAY to rough at 35psi. MUCH better at 30psi.Most of the interstates twixt here and there were pretty damn smooth. 35psi is the max TP for my tires. It got good mileage but is hell on the driver and the ride... I do not think I will do that again...my tires didn't generate enough "footprint" as the car was lightly loaded with just me and some luggage. At 30 psi my car rides MUCH better and handles much better.

BUT...

I did show 36mpg on a stretch of I-95 in Georgia.....with the air on at 70+mph.

I have the same model. I have 900 miles. And I also get about 18 MPG in the city. Constantly stopping and going. I expected to be in the mid 20s, also concerned.

Automatic or Manual? I've learned with the manual, take it super easy and shift at 2k rpm for city driving, otherwise you do get crap mpg. Gotta keep rpms low and row the gears.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

whats with all the 5.0s and 4.0s in here cloggin up the joint?

2013- with just under 100 miles on the clock, my 3.31 equipped auto is at 18.5avg. On the highway at 75mph the instantmpg is sitting just at 20 and not much above. Im hoping that the car will break in and that will jump up quite a bit.

On another note, the 12' v6 2.73 car we rented on vaca last month was easily gettin 30+ on the highway. 35-36 a majority of the time.

I'm getting about 21 mpg. It would be higher, but I do about 50% city driving.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

Fill up #2 that I've monitored. 327.5 miles and 12.6 gallons of gas. 25.9mpg and I abused it this tank pretty bad, doing some acceleration runs and what not. I'm so happy with this car it's not even funny. I'm going to TRY and baby it this take with short shifts and what not. From the gas station to home, I was averaging 29.3mpg according to the info center.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

I have a manual trans. and I was averaging around 310 per tank in heavy stop and go beach traffic. I have gotten as much as 375-395 on road trips. Just had a JLT CAI put on, and when I filled up this morning it gave me a reading of 297 to E. But that's my fault, I'm still in love with the sound every time I mat the gas now.

I'm hoping to pick up a few more mpg when I get back to not driving like an idiot

I just got back from a road trip...made the whole trip on one tank of gas and got over 28 mpg in my 2011. Quite the improvement over the 15 mpg I got out of the 2002 four door Tacoma I traded in.

I can't see the oil life left at 40% would have anything at all to do with your fuel mileage. You do still have 6 quarts of oil in your car don't you?

I think you are just driving it harder.

Ronnie

Most of my drive is rural and back roads with a about 10% of my driving in the city and maybe a total of 10 miles a week on the highway... If I would drive it like a Granny I could get between 430-460 miles out of a tank, but the way I drive I'm getting about 340 miles give or take. I have the V6 premium, 16 gallon tank with 2.73 gears.

Hi fast V6,

My owners manual on page#315 states that my 2012 V6 has a 16 gal fuel tank.

3.7 engine takes 6 quarts of motor oil.

uses DOT-3 Brake fluid

Actually it does. I had the full six quarts in mine. When it gets around 15-40 I start to see it drop. 5w-20 is a thin oil. When it comes out of my car it's black an thick. Probably making the engine work since its thicker. Just what I've noticed.

So is it safe to put 14 gallons in or let it stop at 13.5 or whatever?

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

This is hard to believe since gas milage makes liars out of alot of people BUT-
My 2011 v/6 with manual and stock gears. Computer read 33.4 but actual milage was 35.14 Trip was 284 miles, leaving elevation 4800' and going to 10,000 feet (Leadville, Co.) Speed limit 65. All two lane road and had to get on it a few times to pass slower traffic. Car has consistantly gotten 32 when on highway at 75. Town is 24 mpg. Have all gas receipts since new with milage calculations when friends question the milage.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

Drove around town for a week, then went on a road trip to Knoxville Saturday, which involved wandering around downtown there. Lots of stop and go traffic coupled with interstate travel and tons of hills and one mountain. 343.7 miles on this tank, used 12.722 gallons of gas for 27mpg. Seems to be my average no matter what I do. I still haven't went easy on it, I need to do that eventually.

I average 30 mpg in my 2012 auto. I drive about 40 miles to work one way, half of which the cruise is set to 65. The Rest is stop and go. Straight highway I'll get around 34-35 mpg.

This is 100% factory stock right down to the air filter.
