Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

3.31s must make a bigger diff than I expected. the 273 guys are getting way better mpg. I knew Id be down a couple but it looks more like 8+

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

3.31s don't make that much difference, even guys with 3.73s say they only lost 2-3mpg over 3.31s. It's all about driving habits.

If Im just driving on the freeway i got like 40mpg sometimes more and i will just draft a semi truck at 55 and i drive 60 miles everyday so its important i don't change my speed much and get the best mileage possible

It really is all about how you drive. I average 30 mpg but I can easily make it drop to 25-26 with just a few spirited runs.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

I got 4k on my car now, but i'm still wondering how people are getting 30+. Until i do it myself consider me impressed and still a little skeptical. I have been driving miss daisy, and i still get 25 at best, and when i have fun and stomp on it i have gotten 23-24, so i'm still stumped. The best i've gotten was 25.9, and that was mostly interstate and a few mountains and some fun along the way. I went from the Boro to Chattanooga and a little beyond and back.

I can see getting the 30 if you go 65 on cruise, and i reset the computer and it showed 28 on a highway trip going 75ish on about a 40 mile one way trip on the highway.

I will say if you sit at red lights and stop signs that your MPG's will suffer, which is why i average at 25 (my theory).

2012 6 speedv6

I noticed mine was unusually high when I put my 93 performance ghost came tune from mpt on it earlier today. I was steady at 37mpg and it shocked me. I'm normally at 32 with Bama 93 v2 tunes. I haven't even tried the non ghost cam tune from mpt yet 😂 I have a video of it if anyone would like to see it

Maybe an oil change/ tire pressure check will help. I mean mine can get around 18 mpg to if I hammer it. But I'll still get about 350 miles to a tank if I mess around over the week. And 400 if I'm good haha

I'd kill for that. My car is getting around 8 mpg because of all the short trips I make

My car is estimating around 340 miles/tank. I haven't tested this exactly, but rough math says it's correct. I do about 45 miles a day and 30 of that is at highway speeds. Still running 2.73 gears.

That will fluctuate quite a bit depending on your driving. I don't think it will ever show an accurate Miles to empty that you should depend on.
Even your Miles per gallon will fluctuate and will depend on where your are driving.
I generally get about 30 mpg on a interstate highway but it goes down to around 23 mpg around town.If I do both on a tank full I average around 25 or 26 MPG. I do use the pencil method to check MPG on every fill up.
23 to 30 and anything between those are OK for me. 87 Octane at BJ's

Hi jayochs,
Are you looking at that lair on the dash or do you actually use a pen and paper to check your MPG?

If it's anything like my truck, it estimates it based on lifetime fuel economy. So my car is using it's average across 55K to come up with an estimation. Yes, there are fluctuations, but I also never allow the tank to get below 1/4. Until I do the hard math I won't know precisely.

hey Ronnie. dash here. I haven't actually manually done it in this car yet. I would hope the math on the dash in the computer would be right so I've trusted it haha

How many miles per tank and how many MPG does your mustang get.
Just took my 2012 V6 on a drive from Denver Co to Cheyenne Wy. Running at 75mph most of the way I got 30mpg.. I get avg 21 in town. I don't go by what it says on the dash but by dividing miles traveled by the gallons bought at refill. The dash readout said I was getting about 26mpg avg. The fillup math said 29.6 mpg for the mostly highway trip. So nearly a 4mpg difference. Remember that the dash is only an average not an actual.
You did not say which way you are getting your MPG numbers.

Here is my trip expensis for my trips up to Maple grove Pennsylvania

Round trip and some sight seeing miles in the Elkton Maryland /Wilmington Delaware area's.

This is all with pencil and paper, All 87 Octane,
I probably would have got a lot better but my Dog Mario likes to stop at every rest area he sees, And you all know how much fun it is to leave a rest area to merge in with the 85MPH traffic Ha! Ha!

Hi jjoinson,
I moved to Daytona in 1978 and happy I did. Now, When I go back up to visit friends I find it is so crowded and so much traffic it is really not enjoyable to even be there. I-95 from Richmond Virginia to Philadelphia Pennsylvania is nothing but a huge slow moving parking lot.
If it was not for The American Muscle all Mustang show at Maple Grove, I would never ever go back up there "EVER".

You are right there Mr. Zombie Slayer

I just don't have the patients to drive in that stop and go traffic. Mario does a much better job then I do.

Here is I-95 between Richmond and Washington. The do provide a fast lane on the left of I-95 but I think you have to have a car load or some sort of pass to use it.
This is the only little gap I found in a hundred miles so I did get a picture.

I really don't get a lot of dog hair from Mario

He does most of his riding in his "JUMP SEAT" when he is not driving. Ha! Ha!

it's only wrong if you get pulled over for it.

22-24.5 mixed semi-rural/hwy. MT 3.31 math (my gauge reads 1-2 mpg less than math)

MIne gets around 220-250 miles per tank, computer says my average is 15MPG on my V6... I have a heavy right foot and I live in DC traffic, not a good combo.

WASHINGTON D.C. TRAFFIC
I sure feel bad for you,
I-95 from Richmond Virginia all the way to Philadelphia Pennsylvania is nothing but a huge traffic mess. 301 From the Harry Nice Bridge all the way to Annapolis is no better.

If I lived up there I would trade my Mustang in on a Motor Home and live in the parking lot of where I was working. ( Or Move)
