how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

So I recently bought a 2013 v6 and when I first filed it up it said I was getting 303 miles per tank but I filled up my tank today and it said I only get 274 miles per tank.I always fill it up on a half a tank or a 1/4,I never wait till its on empty.it said I'm supposed to be getting 19mpg but now it says I get 17mpg.it changes from time to time.
How many miles per tank and how many MPG does your mustang get.

My 05 GT gets about 315 per tank and like 22-26 mpg highway and that's with a 93 octane race tune.. Shouldn't your v6 be getting like 28 ish?

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

that and put your right foot on a diet...
you must have a ton of stop and go driving....mine gets 23-24 around town...but havent had a good hwy run yet...

---------- Post added at 06:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:24 PM ----------

second idea...something my ol Man taught me...fill up at night when the sun is gone and its cooler...if not then as early in the morning as possible on way to work..like pre-7am and pack it full slowly. there's a burp stop....youll get more in there...heat expansion will help with the rest.....
has worked for me since high school...

---------- Post added at 06:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:26 PM ----------

or pre 8am at least...

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

My 2011 gets an average of 20.1 mpg. However I recently went on a road trip to PA (from NJ) and put it on 75 MPH on cruise control and had over 30 MPG.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

that will have a lot to do with it.
Try my suggestion on the fill up....pack it full. then reset your mpg readings and try from there

The MPG reading the computer gives is off quite a bit. I have an App on my iPhone to calculate my fuel mileage. My car shows around 28.5 MPG but my actual mileage is a little over 30 MPG.

This is 100% stock. I drive 41 miles to work one way. Half is straight highway and the other half is stop and go traffic. I get close to 35 MPG on rode trips. I also have a light foot.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

The best way to check is the old pencil & paper method.

Take the miles you drive and divide the amount of gas you put in.

It is more accurate if you go about 500 miles or so before doing your calculations.

Just keep track of how much gas you buy in the 500 or so miles.

I'm around DC so it's all stop/go and I get 19mpg and roughly 300(ish) a tank. Went for a raid trip to FL and got 460 miles and 31mph. That was doing between 80-85 most of the time.

Your engine hasn't fully broken in yet trust me had the same problem with my car when I first got it after a while the mpg goes up naturally without changing driving style

green tire valve caps from factory if you do...if not, bring your tire pressure up to 35 all around..regardless of that dumb inflation tag

I find that shifting just at/under 2 k Rpm in the city will get you 22-23 mpg. That seems to be the sweet spot. The more you mod the car it seems the better mpg you get as long as you get a tune

I hover around 20mpg and just over 300 miles per tank. But that's a 5.0

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

I have a 2013 with 1200 miles on it I have only averaged 22 - 23 mpg. I drive a lot of rural, that is 55 - 60 mph for 5 - 6 miles, stop, then same thing. I fully expected to get at least 27-28 mpg, so I also am concerned about this.

Mines has about 1,300 miles on it.but I just drive around the city a lot but I thought that it was suppose to be getting atleast 22 or 23mpg for the city.

Re: how many miles per tank does ur mustang get.

I get about 330 miles out of a topped off tank. I have an 87 Performance Tune and an Airaid CAI. I make lots of trips back and forth from Philly to DC, so the highway driving helps a lot. Also, no scoops or louvers makes a big difference.

I also have a 2013 v6 (manual) and I have basically 900 city miles. Barely any highway miles, a lot of stop and go driving. I get like 260 miles per tank and my car says I get about 15 average miles per gallon

It's all that City Driving. I was getting 18 mpg driving primarily through the city. Once I moved out to the burbs, the mpg boosted by 50%

I get about 22-23 on my 2013, but that's with the performance package and 19inch wheels. The sad part is my wife get 3 or 4 MPG less than I do. I'm chalking it up to her braking more.

I'm in a similar boat. I have less then 1k on the odo and I'm getting around 17.8 mpg and about 273 miles a tank. I live on post, so 90% of my driving is stop and go in 2nd, 3rd, or rarely, 4th gear. I figure my mileage is just due to the type of driving I'm doing.
