Just saw this part and couldn't believe how easy/inexpensive it is to add the auto feature. Thanks for the guide!

Do the base model cars with out fog lights and auto lights have the light sensor on top of the dash to make the auto function work?

See the other forum link below. This seems to have been researched a couple years back. Everything SEEMS to be fine, but I will not know for sure until my switch arrives.

My base model has after market daylight running lights as part of an alarm system sale. I wonder how changing to this switch would effect that?

Yes, the 2011 to 2014's have this light sensor on the dash. So as the OP has pointed out, replacing the standard light switch with that of the auto light switch nets you this feature. It also gains you the fog light switch as well (pull out on the switch). So if you plan to add fogs, you need this switch.

As a note, if you buy the Starkey kit, it comes with this OEM switch, wiring harness, fog lights, and bezels.

How To: Add Auto-Headlights

Stupid question: If I set switch on "auto" at night when I get out of my car and lock it, headlights will turn off automatically? Or I will have to switch them off manually?

It's funny cause even though I have auto headlights I just love the look of my hids so I just turn them to the on position during the day and sometimes at night haha
