Shocks Shot?

So, my Mustang Stats are in my signature below. My front shocks are making loud creaking noises every time I go over a speed bump (at 10 mph), or some slightly less minor bumps in the road, and my rear shocks only slightly softer. I've bottomed out once or twice on the front shocks. My car is a year old, 10,000 miles. Has anyone else experienced this, or are my car's shocks defective? They shouldn't be bottoming out this early in the car's life...

A cars suspension is designed to travel from full extension all the way to the bump stops, in extreme situations. Under what conditions did you hit the bump stops? Also, there is a TSB regarding squeaking front suspensions which involve the front control arm bushings I believe. Most likely that is your squeak. Take to your dealer and tell them what's going on and have them fix it.

I park in an underground parking garage. I tend to hit the bump stops when I am driving down a ramp and hitting the landing at 12-15 mph. Slowing much doesn't seem to stop it from happening.

I think I found the TSB. Thanks man, huge help.

Re: Shocks Shot?

I've had my LCAs replaced at 5K miles, I had the exact same issue and I still do! even after getting them replaced, although it's not as bad as before.
I actually found out a lot of owners are having this issue and that there's a TSB out from Ford regarding this issue. This should be covered under warranty and the part numbers should be:
AR3Z 3078 A
AR3Z 3079 A
