Vtec vs stang

How can I beat a vtec with a turbo? When I'm mostly stock?

Re: Vtec vs stang

I think a 2012 honda with a vtec with turbo does like 0-60 in 5-7seconds. My 2013 mustang does 0-60 4.7 seconds with bone stock. I think you'll rape a turbo'd honda anyday unless its built hard!

Does not take much to raise HP on any boosted car.

Honestly, what does the the turbo Honda run? After you know that, or at least the hp without exaggeration (good luck), then you'll be able to figure out if you can beat him.

No shame losing to a faster car... losing to a slower one means you're not doing your job. lol

But is a 12 civic vtec faster that our v6's? Even with a turbo. I'll admit I'm jealous of the damn turbo lol

Re: Vtec vs stang

If it has a turbo, who knows what else it has. They're small cars and need less HP than us to go faster. My Grand Prix would outrun you. We're fast, but we're not the only fast thing out there.

Idk but it has a stock exhaust just may have been a factory turbo. I don't know a lot of Hondas but it was a mean sounding one. Maybe the three simple bolt ones won't get it this time

They don't come from the factory with a turbo. If it was an older guy he most likely knew what he was doing when modding (just a guess). Like sanguin said. They're lighter cars so don't need as much to go fast. But NA vs. FI isn't a fair race to begin with. My guess is you'd most likely need FI to beat him. Maybe if you had gears, tune, intake and good traction you may be able to take him off the line but even then it's iffy. These V6's really aren't that fast at all imo. If compared to most other newer cars. I've had some pretty embarrassing stories as well. Not where I'd lose and not racing but where other 4dr sedan family cars basically right up my *** not being able to lose them and making it close enough to feel embarrassed. As much as I love cyclone it's that reason that makes me want to get a 5.0 if I don't supercharge which is probably the more likely option.

Just tell Honda boy weight to HP ratio. Let you mod yours like his and try again. Or, race completely stock. There's no replacement for displacement.

Re: Vtec vs stang

Everything is relative. Supercharged Grand Prixs are making, at most, 260hp with a blower. Just cause it's boosted doesn't mean it's fast. There are many boosted vehicles that are that way from the factory and slow or decent in speed. However, a factory N/A vehicle with boost is usually going to be pretty fast. That said, a boosted factory vehicle is usually super easy to upgrade and go faster. There are many mildly modded Grand Prixs in the 13s, quite a few in the 12s.

Lol guy that lives next to me has one and always gave me snarky looks when I had my v6. Now he avoids me when the 5.0 pulls up

Anyway, I'll admire his civic. Never seen a nice modded one. Ever ever ever. I have brand new tires so traction wasn't a problem. Between my throttle delay and his turbo spooling up it could be fair lol this was at around a 10 mph double turn signal. Maybe the weight of me and two people vs just him riding solo could be a slight factor.

Re: Vtec vs stang

owning a 'ricer' persay, I understand the guy with the Honda......but im not bolting any turbo into my corolla just to try to impress someone. I know folks who can do that for my customers....BUT thats what I bought this American Muscle Car for....

What kind of Honda are we talking about here? You should be able to stomp any stock Honda. Only thing Honda makes that can take you is a CBR. Otherwise, if it's turbo it's not stock and then you should still be able to eat it unless it's well built up. Although some of them are lighter, those things cone with 150 hp stock. They have to spend thousands to get it as fast as the 3.7. Depending on which one, even with a turbo you should still beat most models .

Brand new Honda civic four door. Black with gold 5 star rims. Looked like 18s. Heard the blow off vale an had a nice tone to it. Sounded like a tuner.

The fastest one they make for 2012 is the SI with a monsterous 200hp, lol. I dont think the car is much lighter than the mustang. With 8 psi and light mods its prob close to what the 3.7 makes stock, maybe a little more.

Based upon this race my next car WILL be a 5.0 manual. I had the pedal 3/4 way down but it was at 3k on the tach. So it was running a higher gear compared to him some he screamed pasted me. Damn auto

It has plenty of power at that. And 3k it was in maybe 4th or something. It wouldn't downshift. Based upon everyone's stats I should have beat him at that

Ok, I gotcha bro. My apologies, I didn't see you had an auto. They definitely have their advantages and disadvantages.
