HID Lights

Are the HID lights on the 2013, the circle on the inside or straight on the outer side?

Yeah that would be illegal. It really depends on the police in your area. Some places the police don't enforce laws like that but I wouldn't do it. It gives them a reason to pull you over.

Re: HID Lights

yes...red or blue would be a good reason for them to pull you over....
If not an emergency vehicle...forget that idea.
However...oracle lighting has informed me they ae working on 2013 healight packages and fogs with the halo lighting in color...those are acceptable in most jurisdictions...

---------- Post added at 03:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:07 PM ----------

gonna be an oracle dealer here if can get the paperwork and logistics straight...I hope

So I could get the halo lights with a color legally? And if it is accepted in my town. I would be screwed when I go out of town? Right?
Thank y'all for helping me.

Re: HID Lights

if accepted locally...other enforcement officer MUST take this into consideration....lighting is so-so....exhaust is the touchy one
Halo's are cool....

Re: HID Lights

they roll they're eyes at green, pink and such...but red and blue really get the attention here at the beach...but if youve got out of state plates..they just shrug and go back to eyeing the chicks and looking for open containers...

Red lights are a no-go and please don't. They're ok for show but unless you're allowed to have them, don't use them when driving. Found this actually for Texas which is where you're from correct?

"(b) Except as expressly authorized by law, a person may not operate or move equipment or a vehicle, other than a police vehicle,
with a lamp or device that displays a red light visible from directly in front of the center of the equipment or vehicle."

Yes. It's mostly the same everywhere. Some places may be more lenient then others but it's pretty much the same across the board. In the end, don't drive with colored lights. A blueish white you can probably get away with and maybe even pink. Don't know about green where you are but in NY it's ambulance. I'd say no red, blue or green and no flashing lights of any kind unless authorized.

Re: HID Lights

Yes I am from Texas. And thank you for finding that. The cops in my town are horrible. I don't think it's gunna happen. Although I wish I could switch for red to normal. That'd be nice.

Gtzzoom, are those oracles color changing? If so, then you could make them red, green, whatever until you start driving and then switch them to white.

Re: HID Lights

Yeah, red and white is fire/ambulance/rescue here. Red and blue is city police. Blue and white is state or sheriff. Anything is ok as long as it isn't blue or red here.

Re: HID Lights

oracle has color shift with controller....but not out just yet for 2013...more like for cyclone's year. you could do red for the shows...then change back. much like the LED underbody lighting im gonna do for my Corolla...multicolor with controller to change from ed to a total of 10 colors....more a marketing tool to get me more customizing jobs....

You could put red film over the lenses but they don't make hid red bulbs..
