Tune and intake will give you a bit more power. Besides that, not much. Exhaust flows well on these cars so upgrading that, you'll only see minor gains if any. Getting some axle-backs will give you a much better sound so I do recommend that. Headers might give you some power but it would be up top and you may actually see a decrease on the low end where the cars lack already and I'd only recommend on a car with FI unless you want sound. So I'd recommend a tune, cold air intake and gears. Would cost you around $1000 give or take for the 3.

Here's a chart from Steeda on their cold air and tune on a stock 3.7. Good increase

At the rate I'm racking up miles (1100 and Tuesday is the 2 week mark)... it might not be that long for me. I've really got to do less running around!

If you put CAI, throttle body, Bama tune, long tube headers, high flow cats with a catback exhuast you should gain about 50hp. Check youtube there is a guy who does it in two stages and shows before and after dyno's. His stock run was 260whp and after all mods his final dyno pull as 315whp this was without a throttle body you can expect and extra 5hp give it tak a couple. Full bolt ons the new V6 will increase 50 to 55 more HP depending on set up and what mods you install. Good luck.

If you live anywhere in driving range of philly, i have an airaid cold air intake for an '11 to '13 v6 for sale...airaid boasts a 13 hp gain...asking $200 which is $69 off of retail...i only used it for 6 weeks then upgraded to '13 GT...

Re: 2013 V6 Mustang HP Increase?!? (NooB)

Has anyone made their own intake from ABS piping yet? I have yet to see anyone attempt it here, but it's a popular method on other cars. Is it as pretty? No. Is it just as effective? Yes.

Re: 2013 V6 Mustang HP Increase?!? (NooB)

I may try that with some elbow couplers to make it look decent. I might even surprise Gtzoom if I make it look as good as an aftermarket brand. My biggest concern is MAF mounting. I even have a K&N cone filter I've had for about 4 years thats never been used just sitting in a room at the house.

Re: 2013 V6 Mustang HP Increase?!? (NooB)

Nah, can't just drill a hole. Not even looked at my maf in person, but I'm pretty sure it has a square base. Anyway, I can take a block of wood to space it in the tubing right, so it's centered and gets an accurate reading. Then epoxy the wood to the tube, use some plastic fillter to make it smooth, sand, then paint. Pretty sure I can find some thread in brass or steel hose adapters for the two air hoses.

Re: 2013 V6 Mustang HP Increase?!? (NooB)

If you put a tune on it and remove the speed limiter then you might think about a Drive Shaft. Plus if its a manual then you "need" an aftermarket shifter and bracket.

Here is a 3.7L V6 Modification Guide

Here is a video from YouTube about a V6 driveshaft failure at 135 mph - food for thought.
