2012 v6 new to site

Bought back in April

No more v8's available at time of purchase in the area, though the v6 is not too shabby and to get what i wanted would have been around 8k more. The only condition of purchasing is that the wife wanted an automatic, and being stuck in traffic in my manual since our move to the Boro, made me shrug and say ok. I wanted the v8 but no automatics were available and 2 weeks later the dealer got in a stage 2 Roush for 41k. If they had that i would have went with it, but no complaints on the v6, it is still a blast.

I have a BBK CAI, Magnaflow Street Axel Backs, side and quarter marker tints, black tail light trim, Raxiom Halo Projectors.

Will get a tune and gears after warranty more than likely. So in 5 years

I will probably get new wheels when the stock tires wear out as well.

These are all low quality cell phone pics, haven't had a chance to dress it up for some good pics with the cannon.

Very clean. Don't feel bad about the auto. Nothing wrong with it, just different.

So you didn't want to wait for a V8? If you could've afforded it I would've went with it!! Anyways, it looks good so far. Need some wheels though!

Re: 2012 v6 new to site

They got a few Roush conversions in from another state 10 days later or something. They now advertise as being a Roush dealer now.

I thought about it, but 0% for 60 was too hard to pass up, and it is a daily driver.

I am thinking of doing the AMR or RTR package from American Muscle when these tires wear out. And the stock rims aren't bad for being stock either so i figure i can wait a little bit and save up. The current mods added up quick.

Very clean lookin ride you got there! And I have the same BBK CAI as you...love it!

Have you had issues with the metal on the heat shield rattling against the inside of the engine body? After install I had rattling from mine and ended up having to get some foam weather stripping tape to stick in there as a barrier. Not sure if I'm the only one who experienced that.

Re: 2012 v6 new to site

@ noisy pony

I haven't had any trouble out of mine, other than i find it near impossible to remove the filter. I yanked the pipe off as well, to make it easier. I had to because the adjuster on the raxioms is a crappy design, and the drivers side came loose, so i had to remove the filter to pop the adjuster back in.

They just came out with the blackout BBK for the v-6, i probably would have went with it, but i also think a litte chrome under the hood looks good on my car as well.

Very nice! I like the black halos. What type of interior do you have?

Thanks. I like the halos too, they just look cool. Took just under 3 hours install because the adjuster came loose on the drivers side when i was alligning the beams.

I have black leather with white stitching.

Are you talking about the stock filter? Huh. I haven't looked closely at the new 3.7's, but my 4.0 was pretty easy to take stuff apart. It sucked having to pull the radiator cover off to secure the heat shield under the bolt, but the only issue
I had was putting the whole pipe/filter on. It was a bit tricky but I got it lol. And the BBK blackout is nice, but I like our setup better with the shiny chrome

Re: 2012 v6 new to site

Welcome aboard! Congrats on the new ride and like said above.....I would have waited also, lol. 300hp isn't bad for a sixer,it just lacks that torque so throw in some 4.10s ASAP! Also,if you have enough bread to haven't gotten a 5.0 or Roush then slap a blower on the sixer and have some fun with her!

Here something to stew on.......

No putting on was a piece of cake. Just when taking off the new BBK cone, it fits so tight, i just took off the pipe and then the cone to make it easier. there is very little wiggle room.

I agree, i am partial to the chrome.

Thanks. At the time, the 0% offer was enticing and they were working some good deals to get rid of the rest of the 2012 inventory. Then a month later they are now a Roush dealer. It's werid because the have v6 stage ones up to stage 2 conversions, haven't seen a stage 3 on a sixer, then the usual 1-3 stage conversion on the v8. They do look nice.

They got the v8 roush a little over 2 weeks after i bought mine, wasn't within 75 miles of Nashville so it was shipped somwhere out of state.

I don't regret getting the v6 since it is my daily driver, they way i figured i would maybe pay 5-600 extra per year to drive the v8 if i would have gotten one, but there wasn't one that i liked to my specs when we searced.

Just because i had enough bread, doesn't mean i need to spend it. The wife and I could have bought a house that cost 100k more if we wanted, but being as it is just going to be me and her for a while, we got one that suited us for the next 5-10 years or so.

I agree, definatley want some new gears, but since my dealership is cranky and i have the 5 year 100k bumper to bumper warranty i'm just going to wait until it is almost up and probably pick up a tune and gear combo pack from american muscle more than likely.

Until then my next plans are going to be some springs (eibach pro's more thank likely) and then i'll be set for when my rubber runs out, and then i am thinking of picking up the RTR's, i think that's what they are.
