2013 v6 guys with track apps.... 0-60

I have a big, heavy, loaded up 2013 auto v6 with perf pkg (and every other pkg for that matter) and only 100 miles on the clock so far. Now I expect there is going to be a break-in period...and I know its 105 out and kinda humid (for AZ), but im way less than impressed with its 1st two 0-60 runs.
Ran it once off idle and once with a brake torque. traction control and active mgmt off completely. 8.4 and 8.2 0-60 times. WTF?

so if any of you 13 guys have played with track apps, or gtechpro, or another smartphone app, etc... what 0-60 times are you seeing? Did you notice an increase in performance after you got 500-1000 miles?

This is a loooooooooooooooooong way off mid 5s. I am at 800-1000ft or so elevation, and the density altitude sucks right now, but not enough to be 3 sec off.

who said mid 5's I dont see them doing Mid 5's regardless... perhaps mid 6's~ my 12 really has no power until 4-4500 rpms so that hurts take off from a stop until you get going. Perhaps its just me though.

almost every mag since they tested the 1st 2011 (dont believe all you read). Now I never expected mid 5s, especially in AZ. Im from Chicago and my car was nearly a second slower here when I moved, but still very shocked at the 8s....

8's are to slow, dont trust the app you are using as its not 100% accurate I am sure. I would believe mid 6's or low low 7's. The KEY above all else is traction and shifting the crap out of it of course.

I didnt use the select shift, but that certainly wouldnt have made much if any diff. It was fully revving and shifting decent on its own in S mode.

The auto is good for drags actually. And if you take out the adaptive shifting fuse it'll refresh the memory from time to time

I have the 13 v6 premium with the performance package and I've tried the track apps on an open stretch of road. The first time I was in drive and it was really slow. Like 8.2. I did again the other day in sport mode and got 6.5. Not as fast as say motor trend did. I do have 2500 miles on the motor. I had a 0 to 30 2.8 secs. I'll be trying it out more in the next week.

I would, but I'm worried about the warranty. I'm almost looking forward to the warranty running out so I can start Modding it.

That will probably knock off a second at least. I haven't even tried a brake launch. I did pull .83 G's on a right turn. Yeah, I'm going to kill myself.

How do you turn on Sport mode on the V6? Is this a performance package only option? I tried double tapping the TCS button but it doesn't go into Sport Mode.

You just put the shifter from drive to s. In sport mode I think traction control is shut off. I thought all the automatic transmissions for the 2013 had the select shift in it. As soon as my warranty expires I'm getting a supercharger, if I still don't have kids by then. Fingers crossed.

Re: 2013 v6 guys with track apps.... 0-60

there is no 'sport mode' persay on the manual. there is traction control and active handling that can be turned off by a push of the button or a combo of brake and long push of the button to get rid of all the traction related nannies that get in the way of real racing

Until you get a tune for the 2013 automatic you will not be able to brake torque to 2,000 rpm or mkre. The stock tune will limit you. I also found the car bogs a little when you go to 2,000.

My manual with a DPIC gauge from auto meter does it in 6 and sometimes a hare under 6. Have 375 miles on my car and I am in AZ as well... Base car though with just the Tech Package. I way about 200 LBS.

nice pwrby, if it wasnt my wifes whip I woulda got the exact same. Matter of fact, im considerin a stock manual 12 with no options on it right now that I could pull for under 19k OTD. Would make a nice sleeper on the juice.

Where in AZ? Im in Mesa

Go for it. I am in Surprise. My plan for this one is boost. Already had a Gt 4.6 3v that would run low 12's in the 1/4 and was geared with 430's so this car is kind of a snail for me right now. My old car was a sub 5 sec 0 -60... That said this one, I love it. I dont plan on changing much except for a blower.

Re: 2013 v6 guys with track apps.... 0-60

Ok. Ran it really hard today. Really rung it out almost to redline. Here ya go.

Only did one run.

I could not drive and video at the same time. Video is just of the ET and G's. I had all the traction control off. A/C off. It was 105 degrees out. I pulled the car out of the garage. Drove it for 3 minutes. into the desert ( I live out on the edge of town) Went out to a flat spot on the and calibrated. 5.68 seconds. I gotta tell ya I shifted into second just before it clipped the rev limiter and when I banged the gear it went in fast and hard and I think I heard a little grunt from the tranny. I barely pushed the clutch in. Won't be doing that again. I dont like to bring it up that high. I bet cooler temps I would see 5.5 without revving it as high.

Alludc, I would be interested in meeting up and putting the gauge in your car and seeing what it reads. It plugs into the ac adapter. Functions like the Boss 302 DPIC in the 2012. I bet autometer makes it for Ford. Looks Identical other than having an Autometer logo in place of the Ford Racing logo.

Re: 2013 v6 guys with track apps.... 0-60

Ive been backing up the #s with my obd torque app which is accurate to the tenth when I take it to the drags with me in the vette. So Im thinking Fords app is fairly accurate as well. They show almost identical times.

Maybe next wkd we could go mess with, just not all the way the hell in surprise.

if you have an android phone, I highly suggest Torque. Its got all sorts of features well above and beyond Fords.

I know a lot of automatic transmissions get better 0-60 times than manual nowadays. Is that also true for the '13 Mustang V6?

I've heard that too. So far I don't get close to what others are running. Maybe I need a tune.

The auto probably could use a good tune. The one I drove on a test drive lacked the punch at launch. Every article I have read says the auto is faster.
