Speaker problem

My 2013 mustang seems to have a problem. The left speaker crackles when turned up mid range. I do have the bass turned up about half way. Any reason why it might sound like that. I don't think it's blown. What do you think the problem is and would it be covered under ford? And lastly how easy would it be to DIY.

Re: Speaker problem

Sounds like a blown speaker or cracked cone. They aren't high quality speakers. I am sure it would be very easy but see if ford will fix it first. It is new so I don't see why not.

Re: Speaker problem

Are you listening to your radio/cd player, or do you have an ipod plugged in?

I was having issues with my passenger speaker crackling/cutting in and out. Turns out I didn't have my **** plugged in all the way.

Granted, I'm blonde...but if it saves even 1 person from ripping up a bunch of stuff that doesn't need ripped up, I'm all for showing my dumb card.

My speakers rattle my door as well. I have the shaker 500 with the 8 inch "subs" and I wish I could replace them or dynomat my doors. I use my iPod nano or iPhone Bluetooth. My Sirius ran out months ago.

I don't think it will get covered by ford because a blown speaker is considered abuse and not factory problems, but still worth a try because you never know.

Re: Speaker problem

the same thing happened with all of the speakers in my car. at first i thought i blew out the speakers (I have the bass turned all the way up) the problem was the connection between the car and my iphone. i returned the wire and got a new one. Problem solved hope this helps

Re: Speaker problem

Same exact thing on my right door speaker, but it's not that bad. I actually think it has more to do with door "slamming" (Thanks, for that, recent passengers) than anything else because I don't blast my music.

Re: Speaker problem

That is why I am changing my speakers out. the factory speakers are literally made from paper. I am putting SPL gorilla series in mine and I belive that you can change out the 8 inch sub but you will need a shallow mount

How much is that setting you back if you don't mind me asking? You doing the work yourself?

That'll still rattle the door to pieces. I'm going with alpine all the way around. Just got to figure out about the 8s

the spl go for around 40-60 dollars for 5x7 i paid 40 for my rear 5x7 2 ways and 65 for my front 5x7 3 way speakers. these are made by boston acoustic and are made in the USA I have not bought the 8s yet but yes I am doing myself all you have to do is hook up positive to positive and so on the only hard part is getting into the trunk for the rears
