Strange hiding place in center console.

So I got my new 2013 mustang about a month ago, and I love it. Today I was exploring all around inside of it finding cool things like the folding down back seat, until I realized that there is a sort of "secret compartment" inside the center console. When you open it up, just left of the USB drive, there is a plastic door thingy, when you pull it, it pops off and you can see sort of inside the car. What is that for? Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Re: Strange hiding place in center console.

I had a 1980 Camaro Z28 I was cleaning out the center console just after I bought it. Well to my surprise I found a little trap door with 5 oz of cocaine and a small digital scale

Damn, the last time I bought a used car, all I found was a half eaten cheeseburger and a used condom.

I found out. If you put your e brake on turn the car on and off 3 times, pop the hood, take off your cold air intake, put it back on, turn your radio on exactly 15 volume, take your key out and throw it as far as you can, then and only then will you be pissed because you lost your keys! Your welcome guys!!

In the 94-04 auto, if you remove the shifter cover there's a huge amount of space to hide your "naughty pleasures"

Well a handful of 05s had it guess Ford decided that we didn't need those features.

Actually Ford got rid of the window down feature after 2005 because people were really complaining about it. They'd get out of the car, hit the lock button, hold it just a little too long and the windows would drop down as they were walking away - or putting the fob in their pocket it would trigger the window drop.

Later they'd get back to their car and find the windows down.

I rented a car that had that feature and hated it. The windows were always dropping on me after I started to walk away. I never was sure that the car was secured.
