Who plans on keeping it forever?

It's wondering if anyone has thought about if they would keep their car and just keep rebuilt ding it or sell it and upgrade or upgrade and still keep it and rebuild it. Just a thought that crossed my mind but I kind of like the idea of having a classic in the future even if it does have a lot of miles on it haha

Re: Who plans on keeping it forever?

Good possibility I'll keep this one forever. This is the first car I've ever bought brand new, it's easy to replace parts because they're so abundant and cheap compared to other platforms. I got the exact color I wanted. Most of the V8 "stronger" parts are already installed. Perfect for me to plan on boosting it in the future, which I will do.

Definitely keeping mine forever. I just got it about 2 months ago. I have my last name on the back (can be taken off) and getting door sill plates with my last name on them too so you could say my stang has my name written all over it haha but in all seriousness I think my love for this car will only grow and when I graduate college (about 7 years from now) and I'm on my own two feet (when it's not my DD) I'm hoping to pull everything out that under the hood and dish out 15-20k in it to make it a dream car

I'm keeping mine forever. My girlfriend loves the 10-12 body style. Provided that I marry her(it's been 2 years so far) ill give this car to her when I upgrade to a GT premium. I want the 2013 though. Oh and the paint scheme actually makes my car worth less. Which is stupid IMO

Would love to keep forever, but we'll jus have to see how she holds up. I'd like to do at least a decade so I make back the investment

I really do see me keeping mine for a long time if not forever. Ive already put 3k into it out of my pocket(which may not seem like a lot but i just turned 18 and did most of the purchases when i was 17 working 7.25 an hour) so i want to keep it for a while. Plus its got low miles 40k. Its not my DD, And i want to slowly make it into my dream car!!!

I'd like to get a 5.0 brand new and keep it forever just to have a classic.

I think everyone plans to keep it forever, hard to say who actually will. I'd like to think mine will be with me till I'm 128

Re: Who plans on keeping it forever?

Keeping mine for forever. Going to continue to use it as a daily driver until way down the road when the much bigger mods begin, starting with an 8.8 rear axle if ya get my drift At that point Kam will get new paint on the hood at the very least and then he will be garage kept...and that will be when the real fun at shows begins. My boyfriend is even excited to help with mods when the time comes lol One thing I won't do is an engine swap...I know, like and respect the 4.0 and I want my lil V6 to become one of those GT eaters!

^ good point. It is hard to tell. It all depends on where you're at, and if you can afford it I suppose .. If I knew what I knew now, I would've purchased an older Mustang and saved for a newer one.

I will be keeping mine for a long time if not for ever because I won't be able to afford another one for a long time.

Wen I was 12 my father had a 69 Mach 1 that he planned on keeping forever. Life got tough and money was tight. Sombody offered him the right price, and it was gone.
I plan on keeping my 98GT forever. But sometimes s**t happens.

Re: Who plans on keeping it forever?

I kept my last car for 7, bought new, so i got about 2 1/2 years of no payments which is super nice.

I plan on keeping it for 10 years hopefully, if not more. I'll see how it holds up etc, and then further base my decision. My goal is to keep a car at least for a couple of years after pay off so you can at least get some gain out of buying the car in the first place.

Re: Who plans on keeping it forever?

Forever. Im serious though, i have another car for daily driver, and i walk to work. My stang is only out on weekends and its always kept in my garage all week. Itll be stored in the winter too. Someday maybe i will have the 5.0 installed, the car will have so much sentimental value to me by then that i wouldnt care about the price!

Mileage is key. People are buying these gorgeous fully loaded stangs and in 2-3 years they will look like crap compared to mine. Using any car as a daily driver will deteriorate it, i only use mine for FUN!

That's why I'm keeping mine mint every week with the right product. It can only help and only have a little fun as a DD. I'll buy a boss or GT sooner or later when I'm out of school and such. I'll probably end up giving white lightning to my kid or something. Provided they can handle the power

Re: Who plans on keeping it forever?

this is my "Fun' car...so no less than 10 years and up for 20. sigh...just have to replace my toyota as daily driver...it got totaled yesterday...im missing a 3rd of the rear...thankfully my license plate got tossed clear...or it would have looked like a crumpled newspaper.
Thinking of getting a Fiesta or Focus and go ALL Ford for once....
one gets better mileage..the other costs as much as my Mustang the way id want it...err

I see you got a Scrambler, cool! I had a chance to buy a light blue Jeep Scrambler about 15 years ago and I'm still kicking myself for not buying it.

I plan to keep her as long as I'm able to drive. I hope I can give her to my son someday. I let my first Mustang go that I purchased brand new and still regret it. That was in 93 after only having the car for just over a year.

I'd like to keep mine for a little while. But not forever. Eventually I'll make more money and upgrade to something better. It's ok for now though.

Yeah, I know lol and will continue to but when I get a better job and make more money then I'd upgrade to something else. My "realistic" dream car is a vette so if I could afford one then I would upgrade for sure.
